Has Brian Bridgewater ever considered LSU football?

Or, a better question may be, has he ever been approached by any of the football coaches? Obviously, he's big and nimble.

They wanted him at TE out of high school but he wanted to focus on basketball.

Played 1 year of football and was offered by LSU, Oklahoma, Arizona and a few more.
He chose to play basketball because everyone around him was saying he should choose that and quit basketball so he decided to go against the grain. (This is straight from the horses mouth)

Don't want to sound critical, but he's kind've in "no man's land". He's not tall enough to be a power forward and doesn't have the skills to be a shooting guard. TE seems to make sense, but that would be a waste, too. Could be a nasty DE.

NO doubt Bridge was a very talented football player. After playing one season at Episcopal (his junior year) he lit it up and acquired multiple offers.

Kids got moves in the post but he's just not tall enough

I'd want him at DE just so he does something

Yep I said that in the game thread. He is pretty quick for 6'4 265 and knows how to post someone up but being 3-5" shorter than the guys he's going against gets his shots blocked or altered just too often.

Once again, it's a shame he's not just even 6'6 or 6'7, would be a REALLY good player.

Imagine if Martin had Bridgewater's post moves...my god, Top 5 pick...but Martin is just so awkward when he posts someone up, he almost looks lost

I'm excited about his future at Basketball, he's that tough, scrappy big off the bench that all teams need. Just like his brother, but with better ball skills. I can see him starting his Junior or senior year. He could have certainly got a shot playing football, but he most likely doesn't have the passion for football that he obviously has for basketball. Dude plays hard. I remember meeting his brother in school. We both graduated in CM, idk what he does now, but I bet he is successful. Great person.

He stopped growing. Wasn't he projected to be 6'9" or so?

I mean, people thought he would end up being a little taller.

He really hasn't improved too much in basketball since he was in the 10th grade. He's just so damn big.

Why is Brian listed as a sophomore? He didn't play last year.

And as for football, I agree with other posters, there are not many 6'5" power forwards in the NBA, but there are several guys his size in the NFL that were college basketball players.

If he has a professional career in sports, my money would be on NFL over the NBA. Hope he figures that out.

Basically. Too soft for football. He tried it but just didn't like contact.
