re: Has anyone got their Championship posters yet

Here was my response:
I’m sorry you feel that way but the size of the “poster” reflects the current size of our newspaper page.
As you know, in the 1990s we began offering reprints associated with LSU’s baseball championships (offered in the size of the newspaper page at that time). Over the years we have received many requests for different size prints – everyone has some special size that would work best for their situation. Regrettably, we are unable to handle that type of order.
Since we launched our new presses at the end of 2006 our reprints have matched the new size. These reprints are intended as mementos of these memorable events and The Advocate’s coverage of the events. If you have experienced any of these events, then the front page has a special meaning – just a little reminder of the emotions you felt at that time.
Since I’m a Tiger fan and still excited about the championship I hope you reconsider your decision. Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Charlene Robert

WTF does the first Amendment have to do with it

Someone write her back and ask "So in 5-10yrs when "print" news is dead, how are yall going to handle the situation? Will yall print out a screen shot of the website on 8x11 paper since you claim that they are mementos of the advocates coverage of the events."
Again, I understand why they claim they cannot print the old size. But the situation is a marketing blunder especially when they could easity contract out to the Times Picayune to print their front page and share in the profits.

Has anyone considered ot tried to take the poster to a professional printing company and have them make an enlargement to the proper dimensions?
I understand that the thing is probably copyrighted, but 1) the Advocate won't produce it and 2) it's not like you are going to sell it anyway.
People spend will $100 to get it framed, it seems like someone would shell out a few bucks to try this.

Someone needs to call WAFB and make a big deal about this...I'm sure they wouldn't mind taking a jab at the manships...

Got into a discussion with a sports memorabilia collector at the gym this morning. That was his thoughts too. Didnt see why a print company couldnt work out something with the advocate to get the dimensions right.
btw, he is a big time collector, has at least 200k worth of sports merchandise, and he said the advocate screwed the pooch on this one. Collectors want uniformed looks when it comes to a series of items like this.

No, its just ignorance. Claims he used to work for the Advocate but knows nothing about the printing side, but will still claim knowledge though he probably ran the delivery route. I don't jump in many arguments unless I know what I'm talking about. This just so happens to be one of those few that I do.
CajunRevolution-
If you want to accuse someone of being ignorant, you might want to make sure that you're not first...
Especially if you going to give a disclaimer along the lines of...You don't jump in an argument unless you know what you're talking about.
You say I claim to have worked for the Advocate...WTF?
johnny4lsu had asked if I worked for the Advocate,
This was my response:
No...I don't work for the Advocate!
But I did graduate from LSU and work for them for a number of years...do I get points for that?
Great attention to detail!
This is but one example where you've misrepresented statements I've made in this thread.
Won't bother to take the time to point them all out, obviously that would be pointless, since few here are interested in facts and accuracy.
Besides Tiger 79 might label me an ITG and show of his mad "cut and paste" skills once again.
Lastly, I'm not even going to bother touching on the fact that the reference to the First Amendment in the posted Advocate response totally escaped Lsut81...lends understanding to why he labeled me a scholar I guess!
