re: Has an LSU player ever blatantly called out Miles like this?

I held my brief thoughts to gauge the initial reaction, but just my 2 cents, I think OCs do need to be handcuffed at times to fit the overall situation and flow of the game. Sometimes, it backfires, but sometimes going conservative is the right thing to do even it means the other team is allowed a comeback opportunity only to run out of time at the end of the game. Conservative playcalling can increase the win probability to almost a certainty.
I just wonder what would happen if a former LSU QB accused Miles of handcuffing Stud and Cameron. The Rant would absolutely melt down.

Mccarron criticizing saban is going to really upset some lsu "fans". They don't like their favorite coach being talked bad about on here

Reuben Randle,
I can see this. The Wr's had a lot of trouble playing with JJ, and that is understandable. If they aren't catching balls, it is hard to prove their worth to the NFL. RR has done fine though in the NFL and hope he continues.

I don't believe this. LM like a father to him and gave him every chance in the world.

LM had him starting as a freshman, rest is history.

If this is true, I don't know what to say about Hill. Les Miles took a personal blood bath for this kid and stood by him.

you are insufferable.
if you are such a fan, at least post something positive about the program instead of just throwing out sarcasm to (albeit deserving sometimes) other posters.

that was fun wasn't it? exciting? I mean, shite they lost, but wtf right.....it was at least fun to watch. I'm sure you don't mind losing as long as we x-box the offense right?
Serious question, what has Mike Leach ever won? He had one good season at Texas Tech, where he had 1 regular season loss...goes to play the fifth or sixth team from the SEC in the Cotton Bowl, and gets absolutely blown out and shut down. Look at Oregon, look at A&M.....this shite is a gimmick......it is what teams do when they have less talent...in order to compete. However, IF you have the talent...the pro style offense with a power running game, and good play action passing (mixed with throws to TE and RB) is by far the best offense out there.......
Now, we don't exactly do that, but hopefully that is where we are headed...not some spread bs.....if you execute that offense, and have a good defense.....you will be light years ahead of teams that run the spread because you can control the clock and rest your defense.....all the spread does is invite a shootout......while fun.....it's not a championship winning formula.

That's what the players only meeting was for

maybe mccarron was on the extreme end, but i'm not sure what's wrong with former players calling out what they see on their tv sets.
if anything, they of all people know the ins and outs of the program and probably care more about it than most other fans.
they, too, want to see their school win. and it's not like their criticisms aren't unwarranted.

Just because these players aren't on the team anymore doesn't mean that they still aren't passionate about their college. shite gets overblown and McCarron's been holding that in for years under daddy, i'd imagine.
Eta: at any rate, I'd be hard pressed to question a guy who's won four national championships in a decade.

it's funny how short memories are. fans all over BR criticized Saban for doing the same thing to Fisher while here.
saban likes to win with a stout defense and running game. and he does. so what's the problem? how is this a story?

if your defense is good and well coached and makes some early stops, the spread will work well.

Good Lord, why are people so sensitive to criticism?
IMO most of tRant is well intentioned criticism.
Not calling a time out before the half to kick a field goal deserves criticism.
Not preparing the QBs since spring to audible out of stacked boxes deserves criticism.
Not preparing the defense to recognize unbalanced formations allowing TEs to run wide open deserves criticism.
Etc.
Etc.
IMO, everyone, including players and coaches should be open to criticism. It's how you get better.
For example I wish Miles would simply acknowledge that he f'd up clock management before the half last week instead of giving some Milesesque cryptic answer. Miles has a lot of work to do on the clock management front. He just doesn't have a feel for the flow of the game. He needs to work on that aspect of the game to improve the overall performance of the team.
There are multiple other examples, the the bottom line is criticism shouldn't be taken as an attack right off the bat...most people on tRant want to see this team win first and foremost.

exactly where we need to be...predictable offense is our problem right now, but I contribute all that to our inexperienced QB's...
