we were in the 3wr shotgun most almost all of the first half. Just wasn't effective with Cam coaching it. Most teams make it look effortless. Looks like we never practice it when we run it. Players look confused and disoriented when we run it. Although we did have a nice long drive at the end of the first half for a TD out of it once the offense settled in. Not sure Cam is the man if we want to run a more modern style of football.

Meh, we spread it out and threw for 271 yards against Arky. Offense isnt as much an issue as people make it out to be. Defense is soft in the middle and teams have figured that out. Whether Ole Miss and A&M have the manpower to do anything about it is yet to be seen.

Did any of you actually watch the play when he hit him in the back of the helmet. Yes he was open. Do I blame Harris for hitting a under safety in the back of the head? Maybe. Presnap the safety rolled down to the line of scrimmage. On the snap he still was at the line of scrimmage. Probably to contain LF and when we PA it he bailed when he saw LF without the ball and not running a route. Dude made a lucky arse play to even be in position to get hit in the helmet. It also tells u how long it took that play to develop. I think it's a flaw that we don't have someone holding people at bay on that side of the field. There is no way that safety was supposed to be in the play.

I was strictly pointing out all of his actual pass attempts in the first 3 series were screens or short yardage. He just didnt really do that good of a job. but people act like LSU does only 1 thing all the time and never changes. They are full of shite.

The coaches went away from everything they had been doing so far this season. That was a mistake imo.

These kids are not coming up through the HS ranks as just athletes who need direction on how to throw.

Just look at Harris' high school stats....

quote:
Completed 178-of-329 passes for 3,172 yards with 34 touchdowns a

quote:
Threw for 2,573 yards and 26 touchdowns on 152-of-306 passing as a junior

In his senior season in High School, Jordan Jefferson was 188 of 290 (64.8%) passes for 2,846 yards, 24 touchdowns, and only 3 interceptions.

Reflect on that for a bit.

It is still the way to go if we want to be relevant again on the national level. We need to learn how to be effective out of it but Cam might need to hire an assistant under him who knows how to run a pro style 3wr shotgun style offense.

We were 7-0 and #2 nationally without shotgun and spread. The reality is that our QB isn't very good right now, yet #let6out. It's dumb really.

its okay. They ran it for some of the Arkansas game even though they barely practiced it and have hardly run it until the 9th game of the season, and it means its terrible, and will never be successful and we were all wrong because Les is a genius, and also a clairvoyant. The rest of the country has plenty of teams that run it effectively, but for LSU its physically impossible. LSU is actually the innovators, and everyone else are the imitators.

that's more due to the poor job we do throwing the ball. We don't do much very well out of the shotgun mainly due to we don't seem to have a coach who knows how to coach it or design plays for it. Running out of the shotgun doesn't seem to be a problem for other teams and I doubt there is anything that pertains to Fournette that makes him incapable of running out of the shotgun. If there is then Fournette might want to think of doing something else other than football after college.
