LINK FFW to 6:33. Careful, you might throw up.
Arkansas went 80 yards in 2 plays for a TD to shock LSU from winning the WEST and going to the SEC championship game to play Georgia. If LSU would have won that game and beat Georgia then it would have been 3 SEC championships in a row since we won it in '01 and '03. That is a scary thought. Maybe SABAN would have stayed. Who knows?

I think it's safe to say that a 13-1 David Greene David pollack georgia team would crush the Marcus Randall bluegrass miracle needing 2002 Lsu.

And what in the hell would a sec championship do for Saban 2 years before he left? If anything it might have made him leave sooner. He left because he felt there was nothing more he could acheive in college. He then got scared and came back. Nothing more nothing less.

I like these threads. You're thread title totally assumes they would have won the title.

It's kind of like the threads that say "had we beat Auburn we would have won the natty." These statements totally ignore other games that would have been played to get to that point.

No way a Saban-coached team would have something like that happen.

No way.

Well considering we only lost by 8 on the road and had taken a significant step forward offensively afterwards it was well within the realm of possibility prior to the game. However when Rohan went down it seemed like the possibility was gone.

Saban's decision to leave LSU had absolutely nothing to do with LSU, any dissatisfaction with LSU, salary, LSU potential or any other reason. He was very conflicted before he left, but ultimately the desire to prove himself as a head coach won out and he took the opportunity.

Had the Dolphins signed Drew Brees instead of Dante Culpepper he may still be in Miami, although he soon realized he is more comfortable in a college setting where he has more control.

To those who scoff at the idea that LSU would have beaten Georgia in the SEC title game the game would have been more competitive than you think. LSU may well have had 3 straight SEC titles. However, Saban would have still left in 2004.

If LSU had scored 22 points on January 9, 2012, we would probably have another national championship.

You didn't see the word "probably" in the thread title? The reason I ask is you use the word "totally".

Did you see the LSU/Bama game that season? I did and the best offensive play we ran all night was a fake punt with Bradie James getting about 20 yards. We scored ZERO against a team that this Georgia team ended up squeaking by.

I had a lot of confidence that we could have beaten Tennessee in '01. We played them tough early that season in Knoxville. I had the pleasure of sitting in the GA Dome and watching the UT fans with roses in their mouths look as though every puppy in their state had been simultaneously run over. That '02 LSU team gave me some degree of faith that we could get to Atlanta but then get beaten badly by UGA.

The '02 team was abysmal against top tier teams that season: VA Tech, Bama, Texas. They neded a GW drive to beat Ole Miss and a miracle to win at UK. That team could have very simply been sitting at home during bowl season. Or, playing in the Independence Bowl for the third time in 7 years.

NO way we beat UGA in '02.
