I mostly agree with this article, but Spurrier's Florida team went 10-2 his last year.

question is who took over a better program...based on the 5 prior years.
2 sec titles and a national championship is better than 1 sec title...right? all you have to do is answer that question
This is somewhat transitive thinking and not an indicator of future success or cfb would never change.
History shows plenty teams fall into meh seasons after champ seasons, as in LSU '03 - '04, and '07-'08.

'00-'04 had 16 losses, while '11-'15 suffered only 15, so work that into your formula.

Miles was handed the keys to the kingdom - and he fumbled it. He also inherited that most precious intangible commodity of all: A Championship Culture. Damn near blew that too.

LOL
Miles actually achieved much better record with Saban's recruits.

Well Miles got to NCG twice (2x more than any LSU coach), so not sure how that almost blew some "Championship Culture" which had like 45 years between the last 2 Nattys before he arrived.
He had as much to do with building that culture as anyone and your post is retarded.

Revisionist history, no coach will ever be as good as Saban. No coach will have accomplished as much, no coach will be as good. Which is why 90% of the people have Bama envie....

You can say it was time to move on from Miles without making asinine comments like this.

He didn't fumble anything. This program is in great shape, and that's thanks to the foundation that Miles maintained. Miles/LSU relationship just ran its course.

At the beginning of the pro football season there was an article on which program had the most NfL players on the roster. I believe LSU was number one and Alabama number 2 by about 5.

I checked the roster. Only one had been recruited by Saban and the balance of them by Miles. What is the article based on? LSU has had top recruiting classes every year. I think that LSU has the talent that any team would want.

Always said and thought Jerry D could recruit but not hire the right coaches, no discipline either. Saban had some talent to get kicked started

Nick is a great coach, but at LSU he was lucky to have come after GD and not CH.

Tell you what you can do then. Go compile a list of future NFL players from the 2000 rise and from the 2005 roster and see what you get.

There would be vastly more on the 2005 roster. The 2005 roster had all those great players from 2006&2007.
No i do agree saban inherited far more talent than some lsu fans admit.

keep seeing this about the OL yet people who get paid to judge these things and use stats rated the OL line #1... However, a board dedicated to LSU rates them as poor.

Its because 90% of the lsu posters dont watch other programs play. Our oline was one of the best lines in cfb. We had a horroble passing game and yet still ran it down everyone's throat besides bama.
We had 3 all sec olineman(more than bama) and a remington award finalist.
The people that think our oline sucked clesrly dont watch other programs play.

It is. When miles got here we had 1 top 5 finish in almost 2 decades.

Id like you to explain how a coach makes a prohram worse by having the best tenure in lsu history.

Saban's 5 year tenure at lsu= 16 losses 12 conf losses
Miles last 5 years yall love to shite on= 15 losses 12 conf losses

And thats with miles coaching in a far superior conference.

During nick Saban's 5 year tenure only 2 west teams ever finished top 10

During miles' last 5 years 6 different west programs (not teams, programs.some programs had multiple top 10 finishes) have had a top 10 finish.

Miles inherited a program with 2 10 win seasons in 5 years.
Orgeron inherits a program with 4 10 win seasons in 5 years (yes im counting mcneese)
Miles inherited a program with 2 top 15 finishes in 5 years
Orgeron inherits a program with 3 top 15 finishes in 5 years.

Miles inherited a recruiting class were saban had stopped recruiting. So much so that our 2005 clas had 13 recruits.
Orgeron inherited a top 5 recruiting class.

You know how much value I put into what Glenn Guilbeau says? So much, I don't even read his material.
