but its just so obvious to anyone what to do in that situation. its just not THAT hard

I love all you dumbasses that continue to blast Miles over this.

Did you not watch the Seahawks-Rams game the other night. Pretty much the exact same situation. The Rams had 3rd and goal at the one and were down by 5 points and elected to run the ball. They didn't get in the end zone and with about 17 seconds left on the clock, the Seahawks did not call a timeout which would have left time on the clock had the Rams scored a TD. The Seahawks let the clock run all the way down and the Rams called a timeout with 4 seconds remaining, guaranteeing that that fourth down play would be the last play of the game.

If it is such an obvious thing to do, why didn't the Seahawks call a timeout in a very similar situation on Monday night? If the Rams don't convert on fourth down and there was time remaining on the clock, the Seahawks could have just taken a knee.

and then he'll get hired by LSU's 2nd most hated Rival, win multiple National Titles, beat the shite out of LSU every year and you guys would be bitching and moaning about how much you hate him because he left!!! you guys suck royally!

PS...this shite sounds eerily simular to another coach that was here and left!!! Hmmm

so Les acted like a child by walking away from a
no-win situation? Since you seem so invested in this what should have done?

Should Les have agreed with the guy?
Should Les have argued with the guy?
Should Les have tried to humiliate the guy?

or walk away?

Guy gets up and says, "i've been going to games for 22 years and i've seen clock issues but i seem to remember this same thing happened a few years ago at ole miss... i just don't get how a 4 million dollar a year coach still has clock management isues"....... WOWZERS

Les responds something about his watch and how he wears it everyday, yada, yada to which the question asker says, "well your watch cost us a victory"...

That is a total dick move. But...this is what happens when you f up clock management year after year. Seriously, Les should just give someone else all the responsibility for clock management.

Own up to it....Say, it was my fault, now if you'd like to talk about bama....

it diffuses the situation, puts him in his place, and allows you to come off as humble and contrite.

pivot and shift. it isnt hard. Sad, you didnt see that as one of the options Miles had at his disposal. This is basic stuff when dealing with the public, individuals who are making a-hole comments, etc. It's super easy and puts you on top every time.

He did, repeatedly. He talked about it within the first 3 minutes at the Gridiron lunch.

DO IT AGAIN after the a-hole comment.

instead of getting fired up and storming out...say, I have accepted the responsibility for this issue, but we have a game to win against the number 1 team in the country.

PIVOT and SHIFT.

Jesus. By throwing his little temper tantrum he gains no points with anyone.

uh, the Seahawks were winning the game. You want the clock to run as much as possible in their situation

Then when the question comes...YOU DO IT AGAIN.

is his ego so important that saying it again is beneath him? Because if so, wow.

It was fourth down anyway at the one yardline. It was going to be the last play for the Rams barring a defensive penalty. The clock running was 100% irrelevant but nice try there guy. If the Rams didn't convert on the fourth down the Seahawks could have run the clock out.

no, it isn't irrelevant. You ever heard of something called penalties that can continue the game.

I said it would have been the last play barring a defensive penalty dick. But whether there was time on the clock or not, the offense would have still run another play. It would have been an untimed down.

Again for you slow mother frickers. The question was asked and Les answered it just fine. The guy continued to make smartass comments. I won't stand around and just take shite like that either. I've walked out of a few project meetings due to estimators acting like idiots. Sometimes it's just better to do that than to let emotions flare up.

1) There wasn't really a question to begin with.

2) Les handled it fine. The guy just kept going.
