I know a projected top 3 pick who went 34th after tearing his ACL in the 2016 Fiesta bowl...

Who then signed a contract that includes $4,523,682 guaranteed.

Basically he didn't, I told a coworker I noticed him from the Bama game on sandbagging. Guys caught crossing routes in front of him and he never accelerated to try to tackle him and someone else made the tackle. You wonder why LSU can't beat the elite teams, this is a big factor, too much self-centered attitudes.

Not a decision I respect, but it wasn't mine to make. I don't understand why the bowl game is what's going to make the difference. He was a projected 1st round pick in September and all the way through the season. Why not sit out the whole season if you're scared of injury impacting draft stock?

I don't like it. Not with Greedy, not with Fournette or with any of the other guys who've quit on their team in this relatively recent trend. It's the same "business decision" mentality that's ruined recruiting.

Unlike the whiners here, I 100% understand not wanting to risk injury and affect your draft prospects

Why can't the teams purchase one game insurance policies for players? Seems like it would solve the problem.

I posted about this yesterday. Fournette got a $27M deal and Nick Chubb one round later got $7M. That's how much an injury can set a top ten pick back. $20 million.

What if it's a career ending injury like Lattimore from Carolina? What if he's never the same again and doesn't get a 2nd or 3rd contract? It's just not worth it.

And what if he doesnt get a second contract because the injury lingers and slows him down?

This should be more common in non-playoff bowl games. Get some younger guys some experience.

Dude has a daughter. How anyone can act like the fricking Fiesta bowl should be of bigger importance to him is beyond me.

What if LSU was playing for the national championship? How is that situation any different? Would you applaud him sitting that game out, too? Since he has a daughter and all? Give me a fricking break.

Calm down little fella, I'm aware

I get the business decision of not wanting to risk $15 million.

My comment was in response to the whole "he's got a daughter to think about" reason.

If it was a championship game, do you really think he would skip?
