Was not a linebacker.
You are correct and I stand corrected, he played D-line at LSU and Linebacker for 8 years for the DOLPHINS.

Duhe played DE but I thought of him to. He was a bad arse.

Al Richardson (1979-82) — A coaches son, Richardson was an instinctive linebacker who gobbled up ball carriers like no one else in school history. An All-SEC and All-American performer in his final season, Richardson set several LSU records, several of which still stand to this day. He had 21 tackles in a game against South Carolina in ’82 and still holds the school’s career tackles record. Richardson left school with the single-season tackles record as well.

I was really young but loved watching Al play.

Older era of LSU CFB, Capone, Anderson and Bevan were great.
Recently, Devin White.
All time, it's hard to compare todays game and athletes with those from "back when" but White is probably it.

Devin White, Michael Brooks, Al Richardson, Bradie James.

Legendary LSU Equipment Manager, Jeff Boss, said the greatest LSU linebacker was Michael Brooks pre injury. The 2nd best was Michael Brooks post injury.

Most on here only are familiar with LSU over the past 20 years. Warren Capone, Mike Anderson, and Michael Brooks were beasts in their respective eras. Michel Brooks was known as Little LT (Lawrence Taylor). I met a former tiger a few days ago in Lowes who was Brooks' roommate at LSU. Brooks lives in Houston nowadays.

I’ll go with the guy that holds both the single game and overall tackle leader
Al Richardson.
Then Brooks
Then White...
Al Richardson.

I agree ! From a talent perspective I’m going with Michael Brooks. He tore up his knee, turning to rotate and run, on a play where there was no contact.
Freak injury. He was an absolute stud. He often doesn’t get mentioned because his LSU career was shortened by the knee injury.

Brooks! White is right there with him. Most will say White bc he’s played more recently. Give Brooks the modern day medicine and equipment and it’s be interesting to see how he turned out professionally.

Hard to pick between Devin White and Michael Brooks, but if I am picking a group for a 4-3 then it's these 2 and Eric Hill. Hill looked like a monster getting off the bus and was always one of my favorites. I want Hill and Brooks on my side in an alley fight.

This is hilarious... you really don’t have a freaking clue about great LBs at LSU. You want the LSU equivalent of the Dome Patrol? Look at the ‘86 team. Brooks, Hill, Caston, Lawrence and Sancho...
As far as your comment, Eric Hill and Michael Brooks were better than both. Brooks was as good as Taylor but better in coverage. Hell, Ollie Lawrence and Caston were unbelievable as well.
If you love front 7’s, the 1986 team was the best I’ve seen in the last 60+ years watching LSU football. That includes the Williams and Co group from the early 2000’s. This is an absolutely ridiculous NFL roster of talent:
Linebackers (Greatest ever IMO)
Eric Hill
Michael Brooks
Toby Caston
Ollie Lawrence
Ron Sancho
Nicky Hazard
Dline
Henry Thomas
Karl Wilson
Karl Thomas
Karl Dunbar
Tommy Clapp
Ronald Barbay

But Devin White could edge him out.

You really believe that no one thought how do we stop devin white?
He was the focal point of the defense
Yet Pat Queen had 9 tackles in a half against Bama when White was out. It is about the defensive scheme and Aranda built LBs. Hill was a different kind of dude when it came to toughness and the ability to flat out get after it.

Brooks was super good too, but I feel like Baker was ridiculous and the unquestioned backbone his last two years here without much help.

You can post all the video and stats all you want, my eyes have seen multiple generations of great LBs including Capone, Anderson, Richardson, Brooks, Hill, Ollie Lawrence, Minter, James, White, Queen, etc.
If you want a player that flat out could tackle, Al Richardson. He was a machine. Minter was a lot like that.

It would've been Doug Planchard if he had played LB.
