We lost half the starting D to the draft.

The d stepped up and actually became a more productive unit than the offense down the stretch. They started atrociously and everyone assumed they just sucked all year. I believe they finished top 4 in total defense and scoring defense in the SEC.

The production from the figure heads on offense were unbelievable. We will probably never see that again.

Maybe in the conference.

Yes, in the conference. The problem with the d remained to be given up points near the end of the half or game. That never really improved much, but overall, they progressed into a top 3 SEC defense the 2nd half of the year behind only Bama and Florida.

i like, i like...

Finally, Hill confirmed what every LSU fan wants to hear about Cameron.

"With him here, there's no telling what this offense is going to be in a couple of years," Hill said with a confident smile.

Now I am depressed. Cam will be gone any minute. No way some school or team does not steal him.

Cam has a 3 year contract (yes, I know what a contract is worth nowadays) but more importantly I'd imagine CLM's old fiend gave him his word also for that. Now after the 2015 season.....?

Crazy because we still should've went 11-1 in the regular season, and been 9-0 going into Bama. Lost 2 games late in 4th because of defense.

"It's emotional for me right now," Cameron said. "After that (Outback) bowl game, I cried. I think that's what makes college football great. You're around these guys a short period of time, they played so hard for us and you know they are going to leave. "Just like a parent, you want to see your guys go on and do well. You didn't always tell them what they want to hear. We were hard on them, and I think they now appreciate it. Mettenberger said he'd always have Cameron "on speed dial when I have a problem."

Beckham said he "loves Cam to death."

Landry added, "His mentorship off the field allowed us to be a stronger band of brothers."

Finally, Hill confirmed what every LSU fan wants to hear about Cameron.

Cam makes us better and is a class act, there is not doubt the players leave it all on the field for him

Meh.... what about OBJ muffing the punt after the D made a stop late in the 3rd with the game tied 27 -27 vs UGA? They got the ball back and scored.

Or Metts 3 INTs in the 1st half vs Ole Miss?

Point is, its not 1 groups fault why we lost games. You make mistakes on both sides of the ball each and every game.

Was our D down last year? Sure. But we still were the #3 overall D in the SEC and 20th overall in the nation. Im pretty sure those rankings are ahead of what our O was last year...

Either way, we have 2 of the best coordinators in the entire nation here. The future is ridiculously bright for us.

And I dont get why people were surprised at our D this year, considering the players we lost in the draft. Mingo, Monty, Minter, Logan, Reid, Simon, and Lavar Edwards. We lost 7 big time players in the draft. Its amazing we were still a top D in the country.

Lately LSU has been losing games late in the fourth quarter. Is it they are not in shape & they just cant go 4 quarters?
