Another magnificent photo of LSU's marching band on the gridiron (parade ground) in front of the Pentagon Barracks, ca. 1910. Today, the oak on the left still stands.

ETA: That's the Pentagon Barracks downtown, on the old LSU campus, not the Pentagon dorm on the current campus.

That's good stuff.

Something about the horse and carriage gets me. Going way back but the Tiger band was still there.

Amazing picture. Thanks for posting.

And they weren't little brats hiding behind a keyboard. They would be embarrassed by you and the rest of your dimwit friends.

Very Cool. I see that it was taken at the Pentagon Barracks downtown. Where is this picture hanging? A home or at LSU somewhere?

Yep, remember my Grandfather doing it at their place, which is now where Diamond Mazda is located on Airline near Jefferson. But back then, there was not much out there.

Only the first dozen or so of that photo is the band.

Remember, LSU was a military school (The Old War Skule). All those people behind the horns are students (cadets) in their uniforms.
