I buried my Dad on Haloween, 2008 (a Friday). He had been a Marshall in the student section at TS for years up until the late 70's. My Mom made sure to tell me to go to the Tulane game the next day. It was a bluebird sky, cool temps and,as usual, LSU thumped Tulane. Could feel Dad looking down and smiling. Still chokes me up a bit but was a great day and surrounded by friends. I know what the coach was going through, albeit, with a ton more pressure on him than I had.

Awesome photo. Not sure if he does it every game but I have noticed it plenty of times as soon as the game clock hits :00 as he begins walking to midfield to shake the opposing coaches hand.

Today is my Mom's birthday. She is doing very well for her 92 years. Yes 92.
I look at coach Miles' 2 pictures and I know what he is feeling at that moment.I dread when Mom will no longer be with us, but I will know she is there anyway.
We lost Dad in 1986 and not many good days in the woods, or fishing or BBQing or anything else we did, go by without thinking about him, even this far removed.
RIP, Mama Miles; you raised a wonderful son.
