Got a TV tailgating question

Never brought a TV before and trying to set one up for the SC game. We wont have anything else but a tv so it wont require that much power. Just wondering what the best way to set it up would be and what all we will need.
ETA:
So going off the recomendations ive ive recieved, these are my 2 options for antenna...
Terk-TV5
RCA
and I was going to use this as a power source
500w Dual Outlet Power Inverter
anybody see any problems I may run into with these options?

If it's just a tv and you are close to your car..they sell those little inverters that you hook to your car battery. Start the car every hour to get a charge and you should be good...
Get an OUTDOOR antenna or you will not be able to catch CBS

So are you just asking how to power it?

I thought about that, but Im not sure how close we will be to the truck.
Is a generator the only option at that point?
Any recommendation on an outdoor antenna. One that will for sure be able to get CBS at least?

If you catch CBS, you will be watching Alabama v Mizzou. LSU plays SC on ESPN. Just Sayin'

I learned the hardway after bringing my indoor/outdoor combo antenna. I picked up ABC, NBC, etc all in HD. CBS was a no go. After some research, they broadcast in a different signal that only the outdoor antennas pick up. I know walmart carries some.
Maybe buy a decent sized truck battery and have it fully charged for each game. We did that years ago before eventually needing a generator. Either 1 big truck battery or 2-3 small batteries

We use a Terk TV5 antenna and it works like a charm. It is about $30 on amazon.

You catch the CBS feed with that? I have the terk flat indoor/outdoor and can't catch it
I went ahead and bought a dish and mounted it on a tripod. Nothing like catching 300+ channels at a tailgate

What stations does this pick up?

forgive my ignorance, but how does one go about powering the TV with either of these 2 options?

Yes, I do catch CBS on with that antenna and it is in crystal clear HD. I have a Honda 2000 generator to power my TV and antenna as well as any other tailgating needs. If you can afford it, the Honda generators are the way to go. Very quiet, no fumes, and very efficient.

I bought this prior to the 2009 season for $270 @ Home Depot. It still works great. Yes, I scored.

also don't forget that if your TV doesn't have a built in digital tuner that you need the digital converter box (which the antenna plugs into)
we've never had any issues getting ABC/NBC/CBS/FOX crystal clear ... and we just use crappy rabbit ears, nothing fancy.

You should be able to pick up WAFB with a piece of speaker wire and tin foil jammed into the back of your television (yes, I've done this in a pinch!) You can literally see the transmitter tower from anywhere on campus. If you're talking about ESPN games, thats a different story.
Best would be a portable inverter generator. Honda used to be the mac daddy for this, but most of the Japanese small engine companies are making them now (Yamaha, etc). Price for those are anywhere from $500-$1000. For less than $200 you can get that little one from Harbor Freight, but I'd get some sort of UPS for it.
If you go the straight battery/inverter route, I'd make sure you get a "pure sine" inverter. Much cleaner signal, easier on the electronics.
One thing to remember, televisions depending on the backlight and type can draw a lot of power, so dont underbudget.

if we just use a battery, how would we connect the TV??
how do I tell if it has one? and where do i get one if it doesnt?

You are going to use a battery to power a TV?

I mean, it could work...I guess.
But for energy efficiency, ease of use, and most other considerations a generator is the way to go.
Also, I have a leaf antennae. It gets about 20 channels in Baton Rouge including all of the major networks.

go with this...by the time you buy a $75 battery and a $75 inverter to plug the tv in to, you might as well buy a small generator and have more efficient, longer lasting power.
as far as an antenna goes, we've used one like this for years without a problem. We catch all the local broadcast stations, including CBS.

If your TV is an HD TV, there's a 99% chance it has a built in digital converter.

Can you elaborate? Brand/Model?
