It was just the wrong kind of venue for something like this

I think I heard there was some kind of reason they couldn't hold it at the River Center this year.

It was fine as far as capacity at the River Center, but it wasn't available.

Why not just have it in Tiger Stadium and pray for no rain?

I think with the football team in full prep mode for the season, this may be impossible.

I was thinking along those lines, but the parade grounds. I have some ideas that could make this event way better but they would never invite me to the round table.

Parking would suck. Outside the stadium/pmac would be my choice, but you're rolling the dice when having it outside.

Eta: Alex Box under the lights would be really awesome

TPTB said it wasn't available, and I believe them. The question is what substitute venue could have accommodated the event? Maybe Parker, but people don't like the dirt floor. An indoor outdoor thing or utilizing the entire venue would have helped. Getting people in there was a cluster. If there would have been a fire, many would have perished. Just not a good choice.

Why do people feel they should get their money back?
If they were deprived of an opportunity to get in or to have any refreshments, they have a point.
But if it was just inconvenient, that's just whining.
How bad was it?

Bought 2 tickets a few hours before. Heard from friends who went early that it was packed. Friend was also working it and she said not to come. We couldnt get out there until after 630 and by then every single person I spoke to there, as well as TD, said not to go.

It started at the PMAC 10 years ago and it was too small even then. Can't believe they thought they could go back to it.

A good example is Fall Fest for the students at LSU, it was in the Quad and it got to a point where you could not move so they spread it out and moved it to the Parade Grounds and it was a lot better, more walking for those involved. At one time it was the first week of school before first home game and even though it was really hot it still worked.

Anything to do with tailgating should be outside, wet, dry, hot, or cold, plain and simple! Vendors typically have tents and everyone else deals with the elements.

The floor of the PMAC without the concourses, please!

THIS SOUNDS LIKE FAN DAY...A TERRIBLY RUN OPERATION,...WHOEVER IS IN CHARGE OF PLANNING OF EVENTS LIKE THIS FOR LSU NEEDS TO BE FIRED...THEY ARE GIVING LSU A BAD REPUTATION FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO RUN A FIRST CLASS OPERATION

under the lights of Alex Box would be an amazing experience.if you want to sit, you can sit in the bleachers. many of bathrooms on the lower level. easy access in and out for parking, a huge video board for vendor advertisements..

but that just makes too much sense.

It was my first TTT event, so perhaps I had lower expectations...but I really enjoyed myself. Sure, it was definitely crowded and we had crowd-flow issues in front of certain booths and I missed out on certain foods or drinks because of that. But, by and large I enjoyed myself. Calling it a "disaster" seems a bit extreme to me, but it definitely could be improved on in a big way.

Take it back to the River Center.

I had a great time after all of the people complaining left. Not trying to be a dick either, around 8 o'clock the crowd thinned out a lot and you could walk around freely to which ever booth you'd like.

They should have done a few things to make this event better. Firstly, they should have capped the ticket sales. Secondly, that building is covered in doors, yet they only had 1 open when I wen through. They should have had multiple entrances open, on the ground floor as well as the second level. They could have set up vendors in the concourse at the top. And they should have let people go sit in the seats to eat their food.

The trash can situation was pretty disgusting after just 30 minutes. Im not going to say like I felt like a Katrina refugee in the super dome because that would be ridiculous, but someone could have taken a shite on the ground and you wouldn't have noticed.

The river center wasn't available.?.?.? Please.

If that is the case...still their fault. You book the event a year or two in advance. AND, if you have it there every year, you're guaranteed a spot on the same dates (or close to it) the following year. Is a complete illegitimate excuse. More then likely it all comes down to the same thing. Money..and wanting to make more of it. I am so sick of greedy arse people. Good god

Go to an event that screams "Everyone invited", you'll get what you didn't pay for. People who are moaning and griping...uh, where exactly have you been the last 15 years of LSU doing these things?
