My wife and I are going to celebrate our 8th anniversary by going to the LSU game this Saturday. I know some stadiums have implemented a clear bag policy. Is this the case at Tiger Stadium...better yet tell me what is allowed please. Also, we want to go early to see Mike VII and just hang out. What is the best option for us since we won't be tailgating on our own and don't really know anyone else to hang out with? Thanks!

In terms of the game, you chose a snoozer to attend.. To answer your questions, there is a clear bag policy ... Secondly, our fans/tailgating are the best in the nation, so I guarantee people will gladly invite you to tailgate with them. Hope that helps

Hope your drive in is safe and that you enjoy the day and game. Others here have answer the "clear bag" question, so I thought I would offer a bit of advice on parking.

I park north-northeast of campus, as close as conditions allow. The reason is threefold: 1) You can take the Washington exit off I-10 westbound and get to that area with little delay; 2) there are good restaurants and bars around Highland Rd at the gates to campus and you will be walking right past them; and 3) Exiting after the game is pretty easy - just go north on Delpit and take the on ramp back onto I-10 eastbound before you hit government St (turn right on howard). The interstate traffic is usually moving at about 35 mph on that stretch and you will not get caught in the southbound nightmare around the stadium.

One last suggestion, if time allows: Wait around the east side of the stadium after the game and follow the Tiger band back to the Music building. Best drum corps in college football and it goes back to where you are going anyway.

Now, in return, please tell me what you promised your wife to induce her to accept this as a wedding anniversary celebration? I will definitely want to keep that in my bag of tricks!!

Enjoy!

I wouldn't be too confident that this game will be a snoozer after last week. This game could be a nail bighter.

thanks LGBM! I am not familiar with the area anymore...went to grad school there from 2000-2002 but I think I know whereabouts you are talking about.

Don't park in the $50 lot off of River Road.

Just ole Joe trying to scam some fans.

The clear bag policy actually depends upon what your wife looks like. Post her picture here and we'll validate your ticket to save you some time at the gate to not need the clear bag.

Go have a good time with the misses baw. Choose your tailgates wisely...especially if you're on the parade grounds. Most are full of great people.

Man, that sounds like a great way to spend an anniversary. The atmosphere will be a bit slow for this one, but it damn sure beats a lot of other things that you could do for an anniversary!

I think the clear bag policy is in effect for all stadiums now.

I would suggest you eat an early lunch at Parrains or the Chimes.

If you can manage to get there at a decent time, you can park in one of the free lots off Gourrier...that way you will be headed east when you leave the game.

For tailgating, you can always go to the TAF gathering in the PMAC...if you are not a member, either join TAF or the Alumni Association to get in for free. I am not sure whether I will set up or not at this point, but if I do, yall are certainly welcome to join us.

I am not sure whether the tiger will be out or not, as I don't usually make it up that way on gameday.

Check out the gameday schedule on the home page here for the gameday schedule...you can burn up a few hours watching the team and the band coming down the hill.
