As a JD fan and defender I agreed he needed to improve over his 2022 performance but also felt a whole offseason would benefit him and the offense. Had nothing y to o do with a like or dislike of Nuss. I just felt JD gave us the best opportunity to win given the circumstances. I hope LSU fans will give Nuss the same opportunity if he is the starter next year. There will be some learning curve as a starter but he will have a great OLine and offensive weapons around him. It may look different but I think he’ll be another great QB by end of his career here. Hopefully the defense takes a step up and takes some of the pressure off.

Nuss has all the arm talent in the world. He will be good for us. He could have transferred and didn’t. He has my full support when he takes over

In the same spirit that influenced scores of posters here to push for Nuss to start this fall, equal numbers will push for the back up next year.

He's gonna be fine. Just get the int's cleaned up. You will see a lot of downfield shots, and Gunner mentality.

Besides, if we need to run the ball, we have running backs.

O/u threads saying “start Underwood” next year even though he’ll still be in high school? I’ll set it at 6.5.

Nuss should be very good next year. I'm a bit concerned about our WRs. Only Hilton and Anderson have any experience. A few of our pups need to step up. ... It's always next season. That's why people talk about the 25 class already. It gives us something to discuss.

Apparently not.

Dudes are witnessing one of the greatest seasons for a QB in LSU history and all they can think about is the backup quarterback next year. It’s a damn shame.

Not sure I qualify for "you people" but a better question is how did Jayden go from the 2nd half vs FSU to what we see every week now? Doesn't look like the same player.

You think JD gets respect just because he’s the starter? No. He earned it. He had to become a heisman candidate to get respect here. What are you talking about?

No. JD gave us the best chance to win period. Not under the circumstances. Period.
It seemed half the fan base wouldn’t give “him a chance” even when he was winning. It took almost an entire season for the majority of fans to get behind him.
Nuss makes his own chances - it’s not given it’s earned. If he works hard and plays well he will have support. If he doesn’t well he won’t. That’s how it goes.

If Nuss will put in the work during the summer, as Burrow and Daniels did, the receivers will be fine.
Remember the improvement in Chase and the gang, between 18 and 19.
We have talented receivers, they just need the repetitions, prior to the season.

That reminds me, anyone seen the poster SMD recently? I just assume he slipped on one of his premade nooses.

Nuss will have plenty of opportunities….

to throw a million interceptions in camp and probably lose the spot to a transfer. Hope I can eat crow on it but I’ve seen what I’ve seen. He deserves his shot but he’s gonna have to win it.
