That sounds right. Because LSU won, folks were not livid, like they are today. Had the refs called some funny penalty on Ole Miss, given LSU another play, and LSU kicked the FG to win, nobody would be mad today - except for the HATERS.

Any chance LSU can hire your middle school coach?

there's a lot of good examples here, but most of them are stuff that we've seen happen multiple times -- blown coverages, f-d up coin tosses, coaches outthinking themselves w/ playcalling, going away from what's working for no real reason.
but i have NEVER seen a sequence of events at the end of the game (or half) like what happened yesterday. honestly it never really even occured to me that such a sequence could happen. where you could almost simultaneously lose track of time, call terrible plays, not have a plan ready to execute on the subsequent play, and not have the personnel ready to execute it either.

UGA loss to Auburn three years ago, almost identical. Richt calls a running play without any time outs. Game ends on Auburn 3 yard line.
It almost cost Richt his job. Should have.

Still, no doubt that yesterday's coaching screw up will be remembered for a very long time.
All I could think at the time was: WTF?
