Maybe one day someone will have something rational and concrete on ways he needs to improve besides "durrr he needs a time clock coach durrr". Still waiting
I'm going to attempt to tackle this one without flaming..so hear me out.
First of all, I will agree that CLM is an excellent recruiter...that he is a "player's coach".....that he has put up impressive win totals...won a Naty...kept the program clean...won a couple of SEC titles....players want to play for him, etc...and I personally appreciate his efforts while he has been here.
These facts are indisputable.
However, there is a perception (fair or not) among many fans, negatigers if you will, that Miles' flaws outweigh his accomplishments. I've thought through the list of things I've heard people say over the years and here it is.
Now keep in mind, I don't agree with all of these notions, but I think it pretty well sums up what his detractors think of him:
Note: not all of these have to do with his coaching ability.
1. He wasn't the first choice when he was hired.
2. His record at Okie lite was marginal.
3. He won the Naty with Saban's talent.
4. He's let big time in-state recruits get away.
5. He engages in silly coach-speak instead of answering questions directly and making sense.
6. He's stuck in the Big-10 mentality...3 yds and a cloud of dust.
7. He doesn't adequately "coach up" players to their potential.
8. He's not ENOUGH of an azzhole with the players.
9. He plays favorites and doesn't stick with the hot hand at times.
10. Can't manage the clock and use timeouts effectively.
11. Doesn't prepare the team at times for big games.
12. Needs to instill discipline to limit penalties...particularly pre-snap types.
13. Loses inexplicably to inferior teams at times.
14. Malveto
15. Ruined 2011 by orchestrating 1/9.
16. Meddles too much on O instead of deferring to the coordinator.
17. Engages in wacky behavior on/off the field that makes him appear goofy.
18. Has lost key games to rivals that should have been wins (2013 OM...2012 Bama)
19. Hasn't kept up with Bama (this is silly)
19. Has somehow underachieved since 1/9.
20. Wasted chances to win the Naty since 2007.
21. Should not have kicked RP or TM off the team (yes some jackazz told me this )
22. Has started believing his own hype.
23. Only resting on his laurels.
24. Seems content to win 9/10 games a year.
25. Is stubborn beyond belief in making any kind of change.
Now....again, I didn't come up with these but have thought back and tried to remember every negative thing I've ever heard about the man. Some of these may be valid and others are total BS...I get that. None of these alleged shortcomings, taken by themselves would be a huge issue...but some folks feel taken collectively, they create a huge problem.
I'm not saying the man should be fired, because I do agree that the alternative could be much much worse. I'm simply trying to explain why many "negatigers" do not/will not ever like/forgive CLM.

Hugh Freeze has Miles number
If you were an LSU Football fan in the late 90s and remember Dinardo being the puppet of Tuberville that he was look for a similar situation to emerge here.

Hugh Freeze has more important things to worry about than having Miles's number. Like his players' lawsuits!!

Aren't you just a bundle of happiness. I'd hate to be your dog.
The season won't be fun because of a chance we could lose to Bama . Can't make that shite up.
He asked for 5 reasons, I gave mine. Lighten up Francis. Can you honeslty say losing to Bama again after the NC loss, and losses in 2012 & 2013. Not to mention we get them at home this year. So yeah, losing to them again would put a damper on the season.

Hugh Freeze is a bag of shite. He had one decent recruiting class and LSU handed the game to the Rebs last year at their house. Of all the games to worry about next year, this one is at the bottom of the list. Revenge will be sweet this year.

1) bc TM7 set a high bar for what constitutes "fun" for LSU football, we won't see that for another generation or perhaps never
2) Lack of elite QB
3) Does our defense still suck? Who knows..
4) no SEC night games, maybe Bama if we're lucky
5) No Jarvis Landry

I don't know where people get that we wont throw the ball. LSU will throw the ball, In coach
Cam I trust. I think a lot of people learned to enjoy LSU football again last season. Defense should be much improved. I think people will be surprised at how much better they will be. I cant wait for it to get here.
