Applewhite's offense exploded for 14 points in a loss vs LA-Monroe and then he was fired. No thanks.

Bruh, that was a long time ago. Sure he is a much better OC now then he was in 2007. That said, I think we can do better.

Your so right! Sabans such a loser, he lost to ULM as a head coach, I'm so glad he left LSU he will never reach the heights he did while here again... Oh wait, one game doesn't define him as a coach...looks like I don't know what the hell I'm talking about

I don't care who it is as long as they meet the following criteria:

1. A hot commodity that is considered a lock for a HC position in the near future. No more old farts on the way down the hill that are hired because they will be here for awhile (because nobody else wants them).
2. A proven record of producing a top 35 offense.
3. Young and energetic.

I guess you don't like Aranda as a hire either since his defense gave up 59 to tOSU in the Big 10 Champ game last year...

Not for Applewhite. He was run out of Bama, then run out of Texas, and now sits in the press box at Houston while Herman runs the offense. If he was well respected he would not be the OC at Houston, he would be at a major program.

The Applewhite hire would be more like Steele than Aranda. Steele enjoyed Saban's success, but has never had a good run as an actual DC or HC. Applewhite has a similar past as an OC.

Do you really want the OC that Saban fired due to ineptness while Bama's offense is being run by Kiffin?

Applewhite's first coaching job (Syracuse 2005) was a disaster, with the Orange going 1-10, their worst record in school history (after 6-6 the year before) and scoring their fewest points in more than 20 years

Alabama (2007), however, then lost the last four games of the season, including a shocking 21-14 loss to Louisiana-Monroe. Applewhite was forced out at Alabama.

On January 6, 2011, Applewhite was announced as the co-offensive coordinator. The next day, Mack Brown announced that the primary play caller and other co-offensive coordinator would be Bryan Harsin

At the start of 2014, following the hiring of new Texas head coach Charlie Strong Applewhite accepted a one-year severance package and stepped down as offensive coordinator with Texas.

In early 2013, Applewhite admitted he was disciplined by the University of Texas for "having an inappropriate relationship with a student at the 2009 Fiesta Bowl.
