think Ole Miss still has a better chance than LSU - which is silly.

Well as of this second, they (OleMiss) indeed probably have the spot....but LSU effectively replaces them with a win tomorrow as we would have a higher RPI (significantly higher...7/8 vs 14), better record, stronger finish, and the head-to-head series win. All that far outweighs the only thing ole miss had in its favor (finishing 1game ahead of us reg season where we effectively played 2 less games).

Rice is really more of a concern than ole miss IMO. We knock ole miss out by merely winning tomorrow. Committee could still choose rice though even after an LSU win.

Ole Miss probably did us a HUGE favor by pulling an Ole Miss and tanking in the tournament. Perhaps the same could be said for South Carolina and Vandy, to

No question about it! Moreso than anything else, those three teams tanking in Hoover opened the door for us. Because coming into the tourney, they all had better positioning for a national seed than us

Going to Hoover, USC and Ole Miss were fighting for the national seed. Both failed and opened the door for LSU.

This is my opinion, as well.

OSU vs Texas game just restarted after rain delay. Texas immediately put up 2 runs to tie it up.

Agreed. Don't think the committee will allow supers 50 miles apart, especially if 1 team (us) is on the bubble. I'll be happy with a regional at this point.

I don't know if id say we are "on the bubble" at this point....rice could certainly be the choice, but it definitely appears that lsu controls its own national seed destiny at this point.

The committee could do Anything, of course, but all signs point toward an LSU win = LSU national seed, no help needed.

That said, I'd still like to see rice go down tomorrow to clear a potential hurdle

Hopefully, USM has a decent pitcher ready to go vs Rice tomorrow...I really don't know anything about USM.

A Texas loss tonight, a USM win tonight and then a win over Rice tomorrow would be huge.

Call me crazy, but Miami still scares me a little. The committee seems to love them some ACC and no matter how asinine giving them 3 National Seeds would be, the fact that Miami won the ACC regular season concerns me. Vandy still has an outside shot as well with their RPI, but that would be ridiculous as well. Cal Poly has a rep on the selection committee as well.

Miami and cal poly are a concern, but I think they have too much going against them relative to LSU/rice/OM

It will be amazing if LSU surges enough to get a national seed.

I thought the "experts" were saying before the tourney that LSU wasn't even getting a regional, but now LSU is 1 win from being a Top 8 seed???

I'm not gonna claim to have any special insight into this stuff, but something seems a tad off somewhere.
