The main one that stands out is Derrick Thomas - best college football player I ever watched in person, or at least the best until Patrick Peterson.

Wasn't much of a star, but Roy Williams shredded us in the Cotton Bowl.

Steven Jackson in '04 played for Oregon St. in the monsoon that we won thanks to their field goal kicker.

Actually he was not. He was drafted in 2004.

Derek Anderson was the qb though

2007 Ohio State had some decent NFL players but no real stars.

Malcolm Jenkins, Alex Boone, Brian Hartline, Jake Ballard, Beanie Wells, Cam Heyward, James Laurinaitis, Curtis Grant.

About two dozen others saw at least some NFL time but did nothing really of note, other than bust spectacularly like Gholston and Robiskie.

How dumb was Tulane for not running his legs off?

Matt Forte 16 73 4.6 0 21

He also caught one pass for 21yds.

Hell there are tons of players from the SEC we played against most have already been mentioned.

Saw Archie Manning drive Ole Miss down the field on the game winning drive to defeat one of LSU's best teams ever. Broke my heart, but was left with admiration of his talent and poise.

Finally...one of us Old Timers mentioned Archie Manning. He was unique because we Hateed, but admired him during a 3 year stretch of Ole Miss games in 69-72, and then became beloved as the tormented Saints QB for the next 10 years.

One of greatest memories was beating the piss out of Ole Miss 61-17 on national TV (one of first times they moved the national game of the week to prime time) when Archie played with a broken non throwing arm in a cast his Sr year.

Matthew Stafford. Best pure thrower of the football I've seen in my 40 years in TS.

I think Darren McFadden's the greatest college player I've ever seen in person.

Watched Rex Grossman put on an incredible passing clinic against us once.

Fla RB Emmett Smith seemed to get 5-10 yds everytime he touched it, without real big holes we just couldn't get him down until 5 yds later it seemed. As it turned out, after a HOF career, nobody else could get him down easy.

Jake Locker here in 2009 against UW. Great game and great crowd on both sides.

Felt fortunate to be able to see the game with my sons who were five at the time. My sister, who then worked for UGA Bulldog Radio, was able to score me tickets.
