6-2?, 230

I thought he was bigger. He'll that basically my size, except I have much more body fat that DP

They are cutting that a bit short. He officially came in at 6'2 7/8"...so basically 6'3. On the shorter side for a TE but definitely not very short. 230 pounds is extremely light though...keep in mind years ago Calvin Johnson came out and weighed 239 pounds (while running a 4.3 40) as a WR.

DP was always just a bigger WR, not a true TE by any means. He gets the "Athletic TE" tag because he's so small and should be faster/quicker...but he pays for it big time in blocking DEs/LBs (as we're all finding out in senior bowl practices). He simply doesn't have the size. I was never one of those guys who thought he was some great talent, but he was a little underutilized here...I honestly thought at times he could of played a little harder than he did.

All is not lost at his size though. Aaron Hernandez came in officially at 6'2 1/3" but also 245 pounds a couple years ago. DP is no doubt going to have to put on some weight if he has any chance in the NFL. I think either a team takes a "Chance" on him in the 6th-7th rounds if he runs a good (sub 4.6) 40. If not, he'll get a chance as an UDFA. Hernandez for comparison ran just a 4.64 40. He might honestly just stay at his size and become a possession WR in the NFL (assuming he makes it).

He just is really hurting his stock right now fapping his mouth off, that's something you keep OUT of the presses. It's shite like what he's saying that's hurting our recruiting. Doesn't show to me he was a true Tiger.

I used to think you had good observations on LSU athletic programs. Now I'm thinking your time in Statesboro is numbing your brain. If he was kicking arse his bitching to the press would have no impact on his supposed football skills. So, what is it, he is an above average college guard capable of earning some $'s in the NFL or not? I'm voting for not and Hurst better pick his shite up in 2012, too. There is a commonality at the the guard position in BR---tall, lanky, and non-dominating on the LOS. What happened to the Peterman's, blessed with marginal athletic ability but still making it in the NFL due to mental aptitude, that given any opportunity loved to run downfield and F'up defensive players?

Show me an NFL coach, GM, etc...who enjoys hearing their decisions or coaching publicly criticized by their own guys and I'll retract that statement about it not hurting his stock some.

In college this is even worse because it impacts recruiting in a very negative manner. If you haven't noticed we've essentially been eliminated by every top recruit we're/we've been after the last few weeks. I'm sure these guys love seeing players just leaving the program bad mouth the coaches. Yes, the coaches did screw up, but we don't need guys very close to the program tapping their mouths off about it. It's really hurting the program and doing nothing more.

The coaches could have been proactive two years ago and found a legitimate QB, that's a fact. Moreso, they could have put a more dynamic game plan into effect on offense. After five games I posted the passing game was improved but still pedestrian and got skewered for it. shite, they could have gotten Russell Wilson for 2011 if they worked at it.

If you were to ask any Bama defensive lineman or LB if they were truly concerned about LSU's OL to a man they would say, and mean, no. Nick Gentry, you scared of any center or guard you will go against??? And he was the least athletic of them all. Given that, the game plan had to be multi-dimensional, not what we saw in the MNC game. I'm really not throwing you under the bus, but my eyes aren't buying anything the fans are selling on TD. DP will be lucky to be be drafted although I wish him the best, and playing OL is to a large degree mindset, not just physical attributes. Personally, I am very disappointed in the lack of QB pedigree brought into the program by the staff given the glaring problems the last 4-years. Did the staff really think miraculous improvements were going to occur behind center the last two years??? OK, they bring in Mett but severely limit his playing time in 2011. Did Miles just want JL to keep the position warm for JJ although his passing skills were still rudimentary??? Seems that way. People keep posting the OL is full of awesomeness, but I have yet to see a semblance of a Faneca, Mawae, Wilkerson, etc gracing the field. LSU doesn't have a road grader at LG, C, or RG on the interior. The players are good, but so are their opponents. The best talent on the team is at RB and they need an above average QB and OL to help them shine and the D will take care of itself.

You mean a 5 star OT has more potential than a 4 star DL at playing OL in the NFL? I'm shocked!!!!

If he wasn't a true Tiger, don't you think he would've transferred instead of switching from DL to OL to help the team?
