Senior Bowl Stock Down

LSU TE Deangelo Peterson
Peterson's lack of size (6-2?, 230) showed up when he was run over during a blocking drill, and he does not separate from coverage as well as you would like from a player his size. He's too mechanical in his cuts and does not show great burst. It's easy to blame his lack of production on the run-heavy scheme he played in at LSU, but Peterson has not delivered on his chance to prove that was the case. His ball skills are inconsistent and his blocking is an issue, and Peterson's stock is taking a hit.

Nothing compared to Will Blackwell's free-fall in Mobile.

about what I expected.

Love the guy but I thought he had his chances and never took advantage of them- JMO

Hope it turns out differently

This really isn't a shocker. I always had higher hopes for DP19, and I kept waiting for him to blossom, but the more I watched him the more I saw exactly what is written in the OP.

It's why I was even more disappointed when he came out with the comments he did earlier this year.

Hopefully he can keep his head down and keep working so things will get better for him.

Best of luck to DeAngelo.

I heard he'll have to be lights-out with measurables & stats at the Combine & again at LSU's Pro Day to reach the middle rounds.

Also, like I've mentioned before, if anyone's watched this guy, he called out Bama like a dumbbell in the leadup to the first game by taking a shot at their linebackers.

Then he's in Mobile downing Les & the offense.

NFL GM's & Player Personnel Execs aren't going to warm up to a Marques Colston who doesn't run fluid yet precise routes, had problems with his hands, dropped balls, & avoided contact. Nevermind the fact that when the chips are down, his coach & the playcaller will get trashed in public in the media.

This guy's agent must be blacked out drunk, or after seeing what he said & how he performed in Mobile trying to get that way.

not surprised--very limited talent, but stone hands & not much speed

So does this mean LSU overachieved this year?

• After an early drop L.S.U. TE Deangelo Peterson seemingly caught everything the rest of the way. The South safeties simply couldn’t make a play. Peterson even turned around Markellete Martin at one point, making an early round pick and one of the top two or three safeties in this class look pretty bad.

I guess we interpret words differently.

What it means is LSU's oline very well could be addition by subtraction losing T-bob and Will. Same with the linebackers. At least that's how i've felt for a while. Assuming La'el Collins becomes a starter.

So the two most vocal critics of the coaches aren't very good? Sounds like god damn conspiracy to me.

Blackwell was pretty bad against Oregon and Miss. State. He improved throughout the year as we started pounding teams. Struggled some in the first Bama game, granted their front is very strong. That title game was bad for him though, he got worked by Nick Gentry.

• L.S.U. TE DeAngelo Peterson looked really fluid for a tight end. Peterson also showcased soft hands, catching one nice pass in particular from Weeden in traffic during 7-on-7’s and finding holes in zones. Peterson isn’t much of a blocker and didn’t appear to be overly dynamic, but has some ability.

This is from Tuesday's practice, doesn't look overly negative to me.
