Missed the ‘97 Florida game because of a family wedding. Yes, it was a night wedding. (The marriage did eventually end in a divorce years later)

You can schedule a wedding any day you want, I got married on a bye week. Honestly if he gives the wife his balls already before the wedding, it is going to be a long life.

This is such an easy fix and could turn out to be an amazing wedding if someone could stream the game from a projector during the reception

People should get married whenever they want. Their choice. However, if you schedule a wedding during football season, I assume you don’t want me there.

Your boy is setting a very dangerous precedent by allowing her to get away w this at such an early stage... very telling of how he is going to let her walk all over him for the rest of their marriage... tell him to grow a pair and sack up

Just go and pretend you've got to take a really long shite...then go watch the game on your phone. Then you get to watch the game, not look like a dick, plus they'll feel a little sorry for you.

I speak from experience

None of the above happened.

So he is not really a close friend and it doesn't appear that you put much value in the "friendship".

I was a groomsman and I watched Warren Morris’ home run in the back of the reception hall with just about every male attendee at my friend’s wedding (including the groom). The wedding was over, so we were in the reception which made it easier to find a room and flip on the game.

The bride was a little upset when pictures at the reception got delayed, but it’s a great memory since we all experienced the win together and the humor of how it (only slightly) impacted the reception. I still send the WM photo with his hands raised along with a “happy anniversary” message every year.

Football Saturdays are the only wedding-forbidden days in my opinion. Bye weeks are fair game. I could live with @Vanderbilt as well.

Push comes to shove, and joking aside, it's just a football game.

Why though? There are 36-38 perfectly fine Saturdays in the year.

Your friend should bolt on this inconsiderate woman before he has a guaranteed life of misery with her. In the old days before automatic car door locks, you could tell if a woman was a good one on the first whether or not she leaned over to unlock the driver door as you went around the car. If she didn’t, it was best to cancel the date immediately. This wedding date is another indicator.

I doubt any of this is true. But if so. Wow. What a loser you are.

It’s just a football game.

t doesn’t bode well for a marriage when the bride can’t consider such things (if it is truly important to her future husband). She’s really the selfish one. I got married on Easter weekend for a reason.

i got married in july. again, for a reason. yet my best friends wife who gives zero fricks about football had their marriage during the LSU-notre dame game in 1997. fn stupid.

i was in the wedding but most of the time i was in the car listening to game on radio.

You told your friend to STTDB he asked you to be in his wedding bc you don’t want to miss a football game?

Re-evaluate your priorities in life.
