Found this LSU helmet lamp

Was cleaning out my folks attic today and found this old LSU helmet lamp. Has anyone ever seen one of these? Did LSU ever wear helmets that looked like these? Thought it was really cool and would share on here. Hope the pic works my mobile uploads have been acting up lately.

When I was sorting through stuff I just saw the shade sticking out of the box but then when I pulled it out I was thrilled. I'm not sure how old it is guessing 60s-70s. That's why I was wondering if they ever wore helmets with these decals because it's way before my time.
