LSU basketball coach Johnny Jones announced Thursday afternoon that Victor, a 6-foot-9 junior forward from New Orleans, will miss the Tigers’ first handful of games due to violating an undisclosed team rule.

“Early on he’ll miss a couple of games I think in the beginning of the season,” Jones said. “I’ve just got to challenge him. We have some team rules in place that you have to abide by. He failed to do that. But he’s certainly back on track now and taking care of his responsibilities.”

Well, this is certainly not a good start to an expected pitiful season. Will Jones make it to SEC play?

Jones has zero fricking control of this team. Victor knows it, he saw the TQ and Simmons shite.

wooohoo last place in the sec here we come

If not last, we'll be close to last.
The worst teams are each always trying to find new ways to lose.

This may accidentally work for us.

Out of the worst four SEC teams, only LSU reps the West.

Mizzou, UT & USCe are our competition to circle the drain.

Too bad victor does not have the family structure to help keep on on the path to righteousness

Waaaaay too late for Johnny to begin demanding accountability. All the players who have been here before this year know the score and already don't respect him and are probably laughing at the attempt.

Jones has been fortunate so far as LSU's head coach. He has a cadre of buddies that got him the job in the first place. He would not have been chosen based on his prior coaching record alone. He followed a terrible recruiter and average coach in Trent Johnson who had a horrible record at LSU.
The SEC is arguably the weakest major college conference in basketball. This fact as well as weak OOC scheduling has padded his coaching record here. He is not a long term solution to build a great program, IMO. He is not building a depth of experience and talent needed to sustain a program through injuries and suspensions. He appears to be lacking in coaching skills required to promote good defense and make adjustments during games. Now, after the apparent mishandling of Simmons, TQ and team chemistry last year, his judgement and leadership are in doubt. If the team finishes in bottom half of the SEC this year as I suspect they may, he should be gone.

I was just telling my buddy that LSU has two decent players and a third (Patterson) who I think is at least consistent.

Guess that number is one less now...hope we beat those "bad teams" to start the season

If this team finishes in the top half of the SEC Jones should be coach of the year. Of course we won't because Jones can't coach ahd his recruiting has been subpar

Well he sort of left it open ended. If we go down to Atlantis without him it will be so bad. But if it is just a few shite games, it doesn't matter and would be good getting guys reps.

As far as CJJ losing control, we have no idea what Victor did. Jazz Ferguson just got suspended from the football...has O lost control? Maybe he missed a few classes so he is suspending, I have no idea.

I do not want CJJ as coach any longer. However, people who are "pissed" he was hired...stop. We're not a basketball powerhouse, he was cheap, he brought great recruits in. He generated a buzz about basketball that hasn't been there in a while. He also failed miserably with that talent, so it's time for him to go. However, it was worth taking a chance on him. It's not like it has set us back as a program, we were shite to begin with.

I love LSU basketball as much as anyone so I will continue to watch every game and hope we win all of them. All the fans who simply "can't watch until CJJ is gone"...well, you'll always be like that with any LSU basketball coach that doesn't make it to the Sweet 16 (FYI, that's going to basically be every coach).

Man, you're a BIG basketball fan.

AB is going to be all-american potential because the offense will run through him...he's not "decent". Victor is good, and Sampson has the skills to average 15+. Jenkins is going to be a better Patterson because he is bigger, but he won't shoot as well. Add in Mays who is going to be a 4-year starter most likely and will probably routinely be top 5 in the SEC in assists, and you've got another quality player. Let's also talk about Duop. Guy is super skinny so he may get pushed around, but he has lots of skill for a big man and tons of athleticism.

We will not be a physical team at all, and CJJ is not a good coach, that will be our downfall. However, we have some pretty good players on our team individually.

Gee I knew a basketball super fan would come and tell me how great we are...

We have 2 decent players and a third consistent one. This is based on analysis of last season. If younger players make a jump or JUCO players play worth a damn I'll change my statement accordingly.

Don't fret man....we block out well so it shouldn't be a problem.

In all seriousness maybe we can hope for something like the Miles situation to happen here.
