He's got his work cut out for him, the football team was pretty bad the last few years. And they're generally on the small side. Good luck Trev.

ETA: clarification in case peopl don't know who LCA is. Small Christian school 1-A for the last 3 years (except FB with the split Div 4 there).

If they can get same level of guys to transfer for football that they get to transfer for basketball, they'll be really good.

Yes Lafayette Christian. Since my son has been at LCA, the last 3 years, only 2 players have transferred in in basketball, only one with significant playing time this year, that's Galen Alexander and even he was not a starter in most of the games he was eligible for.

A lot of wrong information out there about LCA

Please elaborate.

ETA: I'm not sure when any of the seniors got there I just know they were on the team day one when my son started. And yes he played Basketball his freshman and sophomore years and was a manager this year.

They are but they have been there at least 3 years. That's the only time I can speak for. We didn't start there until my son started high school. Our previous school only went to 8th.

Right. You typically try to get kids to transfer early.

Anyways, they're really good. Wish Byron would reel them in a little bit, but they've definitely turned themselves into a great basketball program.

Very interesting. And with rumblings that his former program, Northside HS, is rumoring to shut down its football program, it will be interestng to see any "new enrollees" on "scholarship" from the area at LCA over the summer & to start the school year.

I'm assuming
If there is one area I agree, at times, that Byron could do better, that is it. But I don't think the reasoning is what people may think. Byron gets hyper focused and I truly believe he loses site of what continually pressing looks like. Just my opinion. If you are continually playing lesser opponents, it's easy to lose your edge when you go up against really good teams. It's part of why he tries to get them in a lot of tournaments early with good quality opponents. Next year wil be more of a challenge but I think they'll still be good. Hopefully Galen can improve his defensive game.

LCA doesn't offer scholarships, the do offer tuition assistance, as almost all the private schools. It is strictly need based, as is the case, I think, for most other private schools, though I am not certain.

Here's a link to the policy. LINK we always want links on TD right?

Kids the #1 player in the state this year and he didn't start last year? Must have some damn good players ahead of him.

Galen's weaknesses are on defense and the fact that he wasn't with the team last year and had to learn to fit in with the team.

Not sure about you this year/last year statement. He started at LCA the beginning of this year. He's listed as the #6 player in the state for 2017 and he is incredibly good but LCA plays a team game, despite what it may look like at times.
