That's idiotic.

If Max Johnson makes aTm SO much harder to beat, then why the hell did the coaches start King? Wouldn't they know who they felt was better out of King and Johnson, after having an entire off-season to evaluate them?

If simply starting Max Johnson now makes aTm a juggernaut, then why the hell wasn't he starting week 1?

Our starting QB last season is now starting for a division rival. Are we supposed to not talk about this?

I'd rather play against King. He's played in 6 games and has 6 interceptions. Turrible.

I thought the kid that played for them at the end of last year was pretty good. Thought they should have committed to him, but they seemed fine letting him transfer.

His statistics disagree. Max wasn't great, but he wasn't bad at all.

With all of his limitations Max still threw for 27 TDs vs 6 INTs on a bad LSU team last year with a first time OC.
And a 60% completion percentage.

He was playing in LSUs version of the Air Raid, didn't really take risks, and threw the ball 35 times a game. His biggest problem was that he couldn't/wouldn't attack the middle of the field. Makes defense easy when the offense shrinks the field.

Haynes King: 6 TDs 6 Ints
Max Johnson: 35 TDs 7 Ints

Who would you roll with?

He’s average. Which is wayyyy better than King.

I hate watching him throw a football though.

Say what you want but Max does make them better. Even if only slightly. King is fricking awful.

Agreed, not sure what the qb guru over there was looking at in practice to name King the starter but Max is definitely better than that guy.

That’s the one thing Max does much better than King. He will not turn the ball over. King has thrown 6 picks and probably another 10 that should have been intercepted in his 6 career games.

What they saw in King was what he did well vs Sam Houston, deep passing game. He has a huge arm and without those explosive passes Aggie has zero offense. See App St when he missed a couple of open deep shots. Max does not bring the same deep ball threat as King, but he won’t force bad throws and he will take care of the ball.

Everyone laughs at this but Max is a gamer and in this highlight he had like 1 sec to get rid of it like most of the year and he actually almost completed it.

There is no excuse for that and he also almost had it picked off.

Did Max have some bad games the last few years yes but without Max we probably don’t even go .500 each season.

We don't really know that. But I will say that a lot of his and anyone else's issues at QB were the result of lack of a decent coaching staff.

Max gave his all here so good luck to him

Screw him, he transferred to an opposing SEC West school. I hope he sets a record for interceptions thrown in a game.

Max sucks, he would be at best 3rd string here. I vent believe how quick people forget how truly awful he was

He regressed last year with Peetz and his poor playcalling, but he was still a decent QB who had some decent games. Based on what I saw against Arkansas last year and what I saw against Southern on Saturday, I don't think Nuss would have beaten him out for 2nd string even though Nuss' arm is way better.

Correct, but we had a bad OL, inconsistent run game, a bad offensive coordinator and a HC who had checked out. Max has limited arm strength and struggled occasionally with reads, but even an upper tier QB would have struggled in that situation.

Either way, it will be hard to do worse than King has so far for aggie and that was against inferior competition.

Desperation move with a lot of risk. If it works they may get back on track, if they lose to miami after switching QB the ship is going to start sinking fast and the QB room could fall apart. All that to say "Dear 5 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus please lose this game"

Good point. If Max plays well and they win Jimbo and aggie will feel like they righted the ship. If Max sucks and they lose aggie is going to go into a death spiral because they will turn on each other.

I still think Max will do better than King, but I hope I'm wrong. Watching aggie implode would be delicious.

Idk why the guy gets so much hate? He threw for close to 3000 yds and 27 touchdowns on a really bad LSU team.
