RIGHT NOW? Just so we stay on topic, this SEC and MLB draftee may have been pitching to Bregman in 2013, when other SEC stars weren't even starting or in the league.

Nothing you type defends your statement that Bregnan shouldn't be considered a top offensive threat in the SEC. In the past and present. Is it debatable, of course, but not so far out of the realm that one should be chastised for holding the opinion

I know of 3 MLB teams that would've taken Bregman at 1 if they were in that slot. Not guessing, I know it.

I don't have the energy to make the same arguments over and over. I've done so in this thread. The logic is ineluctible. And, yes, box scores have something to do with it. Take away box scores and I can make a strong argument that Kramer Robertson is the best hitter in baseball.

I didn't make that statement. Of course Bregman is one of the top offensive threats in the SEC. My point is that he's not "the" top hitter.

You don't know shite. Even if the three GMs personally told you that you still don't know it. There's so much disinformation intentionally spread about the draft that - as important a personage as you surely are - what these high placed sources are telling LfcSU3520 might not be true.

RIGHT NOW: Swanson has a significantly higher batting average, a significantly higher slugging percentage, significantly higher home runs. And, although a worse infielder, Swanson was selected ahead of Bregman. WTF makes Bregman better at the plate than Swanson? He's SIGNIFICANTLY worse than Swanson at hitting. It's so ludicrous that anyone who is not an LSU fan would think you were joking. Are you?

Batting average doesn't take into account "quality at-bats" .. Bregman has crushed the ball more this year for outs than I've ever seen. Mainieri has made this statement this year about him. Scouts look at QAB more than any other number. This is what MLB organizations look at with their minor league system. Lots of minor leaguers get called up and their BA is like .250... There's a reason for that. Maybe Bregman has had more QABs than Swanson?? You don't know this because the box score says 0-3... But maybe he actually crushed the ball 3 times. To look at box scores alone to know who the better hitter is just tells me some people really don't know what they're talking about. Go ahead and keep throwing box score stats out there. This MLB pitcher knows what he's talking about. HE FACED HIM! Maybe Bregs was 0-3 against him and maybe the pitcher thought..."damn I got lucky"..
For what it's worth I haven't watched Swanson much and really don't have a clue. But the facts are that the people who do this for a living know more than any of us and have watched more of both these guys than us. The fact is they are both great..
