Duane,
Butch Peno here. Life's a bitch sometimes, ain't it!?!?! Betty called Marguerite this evening and said that surgery is planned. Hope that all goes well and your life quality is not lessened. You know that my prayers are with you, Tory, your children, Mom, and family. Please try to make some time for yourself, Tory, and the boys and let them know how you truly feel about them and about what YOU want. I know that there is a future. Sometimes the pain here makes us doubt that it exists but Jill (my daughter) has dropped in a time or two and let me know that all is good on the other side. I know that your concern is more with your family than yourself. That is the true definition of love. Again, we are with you spiritually (listen to me, I don't even go to church anymore but STILL pray - Ha!). Sending love to y'all. E-mail butch.peno@gmail.com if there is ANYTHING that I can do on this end - especially with your Mom because I know that Daryl is with you often.

Hey, Disco
I remember you well as we went to school and partied together, and you'd no doubt remember me from the pool tables and yes, regretably, the dance floor. I still can't believe I ever wore polyester, lol.

We got your back, man. Hey, don't let the Big C have its way with you ... you can beat it and here's how you're gonna do it ... You gotta keep that faith, baby and don't ever let them do ANY chemotherapy on you. If they use a surgeon and take out a kidney or anything, that's fine, you can make it ... but don't allow them to do any chemo. If they say it's too far gone for Chemo, laugh at them ... and don't listen to anything they say. Tell them you'll outlive their sorry butts.

Believe in yourself, your God, your family and friends, and the power that God gave you in your own Subconscious mind, a power that can heal when carefully directed on a daily / regular basis.

Here are powerful affirmations for Self Healing. Read them carefully ... Then decide "IF" you really want to use them. Remember, "Ask and you shall receive" ... This is powerful stuff and can cure you completely with 100% of your Faith!

Affirmations for Healing Cancer
To My Inner Mind, Please allow me to
1) Remain strong in mind & spirit for all my life
2) Stop spread of cancer cells in my body at once
3) Slowly and surely eliminate remaining cancer cells in my body ... (can list affected areas)
4) Eliminate all physical pain immediately
5) Return home with my family later in September
6) Be best husband and father I can to my family
Any other items you personally may want to add

Instructions for use: Rewrite this affirmation in your own words, Disco, and add any specific items you want to accomplish in addition to this example. Have this written down and placed where you can see it and read / repeat it, three times a day, minimum ... or whenever you feel any pain, and above all else ... remember this ... God gave you a soul & a Subconscious mind that never dies ... so say / read the "words" humbly as you would say a prayer ... because you are tapping into a great gift. If you need any other info on the affirmations, let me know.

Duane - I lost one brother to cancer nearly 15 years ago, but my oldest brother is a cancer survivor. You're my age and I have kids about the same age - really brings things to light for me. Keep faith, take great care of yourself and you and your family will be in my prayers every day.

Hi all! I just wanted to let everyone know that Duane had his kidney removed yesterday and in the words of the doctor he did fantastic! The surgery was scheduled to last 4-1/2 hours but only took half that because big D is so strong and in such great shape. He had a good night and was able to get up and sit in a chair for a little awhile. No word yet on when he will be released from the hospital but it probably won't be until sometime next week. Duane says he feels all the love, prayers and support and humbly requests that you keep them coming.

Duane - I had a kidney removed when donating it to my son many years ago.

Make sure to tell your wife she can no longer use the "u don't have to give birth" line anymore when dealing with pain... .

Also, it completely cured my slice and cut a couple shots off my golf game!

Prayers to you and yours!

To everyone,

I received an emailed update about Duane yesterday from his wife Tory. It follows.

Hi Dear Friends and Family,

Here is an update on Big D... We just returned from his follow up check up today at MD Anderson and doctors say that he recovering from the kidney/tumor removal, ahead of schedule. They are releasing him to go back to work next Monday 9-29-98. Great news! He will also start back on the chemo pill, Sutent, that same day to fight the lung and liver lesions. He is getting stronger every day and is challenging me to race him around the neighborhood. Yikes!

As always, he credits his quick recovery to the LORD, who he walks with daily. Your prayers are felt and please keep them coming.

God Bless,
Tory

Thanks to everyone. God bless.

Great news. I lost my Mom to cervical cancer in May, so I know what his family is going thru. I will keep him in my prayers.
