Duane - My older brother is Dennis Shaffer and he was wanting to come visit you at MD Anderson.
He lives in Houston and asked me to find out what room # and visiting times, etc... or any other info you can give him so he can stay in contact. I check the RANT daily so if you feel like posting some info. for me to give to him I would appreciate it. You are thought of more than you'll ever know. Thanks.

D, it was awesome to read your notes, I can see your face and hear your voice when I read them. The Tiger and Wolves nation are with you, Tory, and the boys. Your perspective is inspiring to all who are following your progress. It is amazing how little time all the crew from B.R. (Randy,Blair, Dave,myself,and hundreds of others)have been able to share with ya'll since you've been away, yet you are instantaneously on all of our minds 24/7. This has been bumped so that the night crew can see Duane's latest reply from last night (the one at 9:26 p.m.). It is the best news that we have seen since we found out about the cancer.

My mom talked to Holen's mother last week so I know he knows but not sure if he has talked to Duane.

Just to let u know, my husband, Holenn Roussel has been keeping in touch with Dwayne and does know about his condition. Planning a trip to TX very soon to see him and visit with him. Just wanted you to know he is aware of what is going on and is very concerned about his best friend. Thanks for acknowledging their friendship and asking where Holenn is in this!

I just received an update from Duane's wife Tory. Many people have been asking, so here we go.
Since receiving the news of what type of cancer he has, Duane's first appointment was today with his team of doctors. A plan of strategy has been mapped out for his treatment, so I'll give the shortest version that I can.
The cancer in the lungs will be treated first with chemo in the form of a pill while hoping that the kidney will not start bleeding again. Hopefully the chemo will stop any cancer growth in the lungs and liver. This will take about six weeks, and then the kidney is schedueld to be removed about week 7 at MD Anderson. He will continue to be monitored to see how the chemo is working. The treatment is subject to change if it is found that the chemo is not working.
Let's all hope and pray for the best and support big D on his recovery.
