Jesus, that’s tough to hear. I played summer ball with him for a few years and we’d go get hammered at Hyde Park then head over to Mannigan’s and be up for practice the next day....... almost everyday of the week. Some of the best times of my life. He was a good dude. His poor family.

Jeff was one of the best athletes I've played ball with at Rummel or against in all my life. He could absolutely crush a baseball further than anyone by far. He truly had major league talent and could have been drafted out of high school had he stayed disciplined and focused toward baseball.

That ‘96 Rummel team with Lambert and Winchester back to back in the line up was just stupid. I played with Jason Armstrong and Mike Cervalo at Delgado for 2 years too. All good dudes.

The Rummel state championship team was 1997. And yes with him and Winchester in the lineup with Nugent pitching was difficult to beat.
