I don't understand how people can say this after 9 years of watching a LSU football under Miles. How many times have we actually blown out a team?

did you sleep through 2011 ?

I can remember V Tech - ran them out of Tiger Stadium

I could see winning this game big if they can't handle LF7 ! In my dreams LF7 goes off on a slower Wisky D.

in that game we allowed a 100 yard kick return and fumbled inside of our own 5 yard line.

But you do agree that those things happened, right? And they were mistakes that can only be blamed on LSU.

For the sake of this argument, Yes.

Yet, you are going to dismiss any of the blow outs that weren't against top 25 teams? So we're only talking about like 2/3 openers?

Did you sleep through Az St., Washington, UNC and TCU?

You have no point here. Did you not read the rest of my post?

Obviously I just said those things happened and they are on LSU. My next sentence said something to the effect of how often does LSU do those types of things? When is the last time we fumbled a football inside of our own 5 yard line?

I will try to say this again and maybe this time you will catch it, if we play fundamentally sound football, Wisconsin won't be in this game for very long. That's a big if with a bunch of freshman on the field on offense, but we have a solid line and should be great on defense.

5 actually against formidable competition.

Az St.
Washington
UNC
Oregon
TCU

We were by far more talented than every one of those teams. We "blew out" one of those.

Ok you're just one of these full of shite guys. You are a fricking moron to say that we were "far more talented" than Oregon. Pretty stupid to even say that we were far more talented than UNC.

Yeah, I guess it's hard to lose an argument if you can go back and change what you were originally trying to say.

I'm total agreement with you. On paper we should cruise. But the fact is we have a lot of youth on the field in their first game that will be away from Tiger Stadium. If you are expecting a blowout, I'm afraid you may be disappointed due to the history I pointed out in my previous post.

I don't think he gets as much playing time this game as you do. Les will bring him along slow. Kinda like he did with Hill.

Ok, Wisconsin is replacing to their entire front 7 on defense and they will be going against one of the best offensive lines in the country with a stable of running backs and mobile quarterback behind them. LSU isn't the only team in the country that has to replace some players.

The same people expecting us to blow out Wisconsin are going to be the same people on here ready to jump off a bridge when the game is tied at halftime.

Tempering expectations is very foreign to the Rant.

1. State will NOT be a pushover. State will have their best team under Mullen. It could be a bigger test for LSU than Ole Miss. Maybe...I think we will win it though.

2. Wisconsin game will be a low scoring game IF UW is up to their usual snuff with their new players/starters. In that case, LSU wins 20-14. Look for LSU to throw under 15 passes. Magee will be our leading rusher. BUGA will get some carries but those may be less than 15. If UW shopws weakness at O line or D line, LSU will win more like 27-7.

I was at the UNC game. Grace of God we won - they dropped 2 passes at the close that would have gave them the game. We out played them but couldn't score.

It's about the Wisconsin game, really.

But, you implied that we have rarely blown anyone out under Miles, which is inaccurate.

And this isn't to say I think we'll blow out Wisconsin. It could happen, though. Didn't they lose their entire defensive front-7?

Of course it could happen. I was originally refering to the posts on the first page that stated...

quote:

LSU wins and it won't be close

And

quote:

We win comfortably in this game

My only point is that LSU under Miles has a tendency to under perform in these kinds of opening games with the exception of the Oregon game.

Exactly. That UNC was not lacking in talent. Typical LSU fan that thinks just because we are LSU we are head over heels more talented than every team on the schedule.

Uh, no.

Blowing an inferior team out means that we don't let them linger. If we let a team hang around, we run the risk of a big play or turnover costing us the game.

If we're superior, go ahead and get a big lead and remove all risk of a loss.
