CEH 5'7"
He will shine in Canada's system.

Warrick Dunn was one of my favorite running backs when he played and he's small but ran like a bull but could cut on a dime. Catholic High has had some great one come through there.

Dude has narry a carry and we are comparing to K faulk
Let the kid play out. K faulk was one of the, if not THE best RB in LSU history and won 3 superbowls

Nobody is comparing him to Kevin Faulk. Only using him as an example of how you don't have to be tall be be an effective RB.

Dalton Hilliard plain and simple the best back I've ever played against and seen. No disrespect to LF7. Had to play his arse in high school was a total beast! Ran so low to the ground and had tree trunks as legs! CEH looks the part as well!
So you played against Dalton Hilliard and LF? You must age well.

Clyde-edwards-helaire is listed at 5'8 208 and is faster then Kevin Faulk.
Ok. I retract what I said. However, some here are saying he is faster than a debatable best RB in LSU history who has won 3 Superbowls. Ok maybe he is. Maybe not. Lets not start putting this dude in a K Faulk level of discussion. agreed?
Let the guy get some carries and try to hold a candle to K Faulk. My goodness. Do some of you even realize how talented Faulk was? He was a phenom.

If you worried about a running backs height then you don't know anything about football

Who's worried about height? Dalton Hilliard? Kevin Faulk? Barry Sanders? Walter Payton?

just one step slower than Etienne and Akers in the 40 which is pretty amazing considering how thick and stump like he is

He might be underrated now but he wasn't in his day.

Hoping that they can at least open some holes in the running game.
Expecting a disaster in pass blocking in the SEC Meat. (Especially if Clapp goes down again)

Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time rushing leader, is 5'9".

Terrance Magee was a good running back and has a chance to make a roster this years 3 years removed.
TMagee might have been 4' 11"

Short for a RB can be a positive attribute, all other things being the same. Now -at a certain point, it limits top end speed (even Trindon - had his legs been 2 inches taller, he wouldn't have even played FB - he would have been the fastest man in the world.) But, a guy in the mid 5' range, with a large frame for height - comfortably carrying 195 or 200 pounds (and CEH is in that range or better) can cause problems for the defense.
First benefit is lower center of gravity. A taller back has to exert a lot more force to make cuts, particularly violent, dynamic ones that scatbacks are known for. Lower center of gravity also allows a back to squeeze under and around taller linemen engagements and get through holes a taller back can't. Lower center of gravity also makes a back harder to tackle, all other things being equal.
Second benefit is stealth. A shorter back is tougher to pick up coming out of the backfield with the ball. It puts more stress on linebackers and safeties to make their reads on play action and misdirection, as well as on their straight run reads depending on their assignment.

His skills are perfect for this offense.
I would have been a little concerned running him in a Les Miles offense but they can get creative with him running and receiving out of the backfield.
In open space is where he is going to thrive.

What a fantastic quote.
Honestly, I guess the only downfalls of being short would be harder to hit as a receiver for the QB, and shorter strides for long breakaways.
But he's certainly not too short to be an unreal RB for us.

Just need him to score touchdowns. Don't need him to post people up or dunk.

If I remember it correctly, Dalton said that in the papers when he was a member of the Saints and was asked about his height being an issue in the NFL.
So my uncle told me. It fits this thread to a T though.
