What was it about him or his record etc. that you didn't like? no itent to flame..just straight up question.

Full disclosure-i really liked Miles until that infamous night in the Dome 1/9. He is dead to me since then.

He reminds me of Elmer Fudd hunting wabbits.

He always reminded me of Elmer Fudd. I can't take seriously a grown man who can't put a complete sentence together.

lack of player and game management, preparation, and on the field discipline. it was there from the beginning just most here ignored performances and only looked at results.

I wasn't sure about him, honestly. But all it took was the post Katrina Tennessee game and I knew we were sunk. I started loving the 2007 Les, but in 2008 I came back to earth with his handling of QB issues.

Nick Saban is the college version of Bill Belichick, except Saban's rep hasn't been tainted by cheating scandals. Saban is a Belichick disciple, so the comparisons are obviously apparent. Their personalities are very similar, very bland.

Miles on the other hand has a personality and quirks. I think he is an interesting person. I've said this before though, while it's nice to have personality, I think all of us would prefer the championships and football glory Saban brings to Tuscaloosa every season.

I've disliked him since the day he was hired. After the win at Arizona State, I wasn't too sure what to think, then after Tennessee the next week I was like

It was apparent to me after witnessing him frantically trying to call a time out after we intercepted the ball early in his first season, that something was not quite right about him. I was immediately skeptical. Over the course of that season and those that followed, as I watched us continually struggle to get plays in on time, as i watched our WRs continually struggle to line up properly, and as I watched him continually struggle to understand very basic clock strategy, I reached the conclusion that I would prefer someone else coach our Tigers on Saturday nights.

First game in Tiger Stadium - trying to call a timeout on an interception explained to me we are dealing with a fricking moron.

Little did I know that would be a high point in his game management skill.

I never liked his Gameday coaching from day 1. He was always a step or two behind the action.

I was willing to give him a chance at the beginning. Ironically, I made up my mind that he was not the guy after the Arkansas loss in 2007. The universe somehow aligned to allow LSU to make the championship game after losing to two .500 teams that year. The results ended up great, but as Saban would say, the "process" apeared very flawed. The most talented team in college football had no business losing twice much less to two .500 teams.

My analysis of Miles

He is laid-back guy and a player friendly coach but that laid-back style leads to a lack of discipline and focus on field.

Think about how many lucky wins the guy has had...
1) Ut when Dooley was there
2) Fla on the fake FG that bounced
3) Bama when they missed FG
4) State when Chad ??? Knocked down a pass
5) NC when we knocked a pass down in end zone on last play of game

28-21 record at OSU...was destroyed by Ohio State 33-7 in 2004 Alamo Bowl....my next door neighbor, an OK State alum, laughed hysterically when LSU hired Miles..."all he does is run the fricken ball"

Honestly, he never proved himself elite or even great at anything . He was mediocre at every position coaching stop and was a mediocre OC. Nothing about him screams anything beyond motivator and that only works for so long. The fact is he is not that good of a coach and his recruiting is overrated. He gets lots of talent but there is little planning to fill holes and it has shown ever year.
