I have been concerned for quite some time that LSU fans may be part of the problem.

Even if the players and coaches don't read the rant, the press certainly does and seems to use it as a barometer for our whole fan base. Frankly the players must feel like they can't do anything right. Get a big win, and we'll complain that it wasn't enough. Lose and the sky is falling. I fear our "refusal to accept mediocrity" has turned us into the equivalent of over-demanding parents that leave their children devoid of self-confidence. I know I wasn't a bundle of self-confidence when I was that young (and I suspect the ones with the confidence are the ones that get into trouble, such as Perrilloux). Our tone certainly can't help with recruiting either.

I haven't said anything before as I don't see my views changing anyone else's mind on the subject (much like discussing politics these days), but I wish we could support our team instead of tearing them down.

I guess I will be roasted...

I know many will disagree too. So I'll get down voted as well, but I'm stating my opinion anyway.

How long was Miles here again? How many seasons did he have to improve this team?

Now how long has O been here and how many seasons has he had to improve this team?

You people are mother frickn idiots comparing these two situations. My god

Les Miles had ample time to make the changes he needed to. O has lost one freakn game dumbass.

Inept OB play doesn't help, but ultimately that's coaching so agree

Did you feel the same way when Miles was HC? If so, link an old post here of you defending Miles from people calling him a retard and saying he was the only thing keeping LSU from championships. If you can provide evidence of that consistent position, then carry on. If not, you will continue to be roasted and trolled and called out as a CheeriO because that is all that you are.

This is not a group therapy session or a damn bridge club for women...THIS IS A FOOTBALL TEAM.

I think at one time the negativity may have hurt the team/recruiting but now I think it's just exposing the ignorance of the fans! There is so much crazy and ignorant arse shite being posted this site is really being discredited!

For example: People wanting to blame O for the 2014 and 2015 recruiting classes saying he was the recruiting coordinator and DL coach! People now calling this a "rebuilding job" when that's only partially true, we need to add depth and talent in a few areas but it's not a total rebuild! Then we think because all those highly ranked classes we had equates to talent equal to anybody.

So very little objectivity and so much ignorance will eventually ruin this site! I say flame on rantards, you are lighting your own damn house on fire ????

FWIW I think Miles and Orgeron are both shitty coaches.

Miles was fired (deservedly so) because he went 15-11 in the SEC (10-10) against the West) his last 3+ years.

Overall win totals propped up with cupcakes don't mean a whole lot.

What they said. I wanted Miles gone due to our lack of competitiveness in the SEC, especially towards the end of his tenure. I didn't want O as a coach and still don't. The difference? Miles was here for a loooong time and O hasn't even been HC for a year. It's not like the start of Miles career here either, where he inherited a Saben coached team. O inherited a program that was struggling for years (in the SEC, particularly the West).

I do not think we made any noticeable improvement in coaching, maybe even took a step backwards. But we had to make a change, because we were only getting worse.

Did Miles's team quit 3 games into his tenure?

Did Miles team quit the second half of the Tennessee game in Miles first year? Tennessee gave us the first half, then half wit's team couldn't hold it. With JR, the best LSU QB in LSU history, in the opinion of many fans, he still couldn't protect a big lead in the 2nd half.
Wasn't Tennessee's QB a player who couldn't see the field at LSU, yet he made a Miles' team look like quitters.

You need more study.

You're talking about the game after Katrina. That's the game you're referring to. You're saying that team quit? I just want you to confirm that's what you're saying before I call a certifiable fricking idiot for saying it

There’s a difference between saying “O is in over his head with this job” or criticizing his actual coaching mistakes...and calling him a moron, dumb cajun, disgrace, awful, worst coach ever, and other names...after he lost one SEC road game.

What will hurt morale or recruiting more, what happened last Saturday or how this board reacts to it?

There's a separate thread already explaining the vast difference between that game and the one this past Saturday.

But your condescension is just hilarious.

Not sure how much it hurts the program that's hard to gage, it surely doesn't help in any way. What it does do is make the idiots at ESPN look 100% right when they're critical of our fanbase which is very emberassing. It's sad when one of the only things ESPN is correct about is our fans.

What does O have on his resume to prove he can get this thing back on track?? But now we're the assholes for not blindly disregarding all of the signs that point to this being an impending disaster with no one at the wheel that can prevent it.

yes, you are an a-hole. you should quit whining about negatively when you post this garbage.

O's resume' at ole miss ain't gonna change. he has a chance to change that here. I, as an LSU fan, am pulling for him to do so.
