After Monday night, Harbaugh is gone to NFL.
Probably to the Raiders. Maybe take McCarthy with him as a draft choice.
Asst. Coach wire is already warming up for that transition.
CBK will be sought, along with FSU coach, neither will leave where they are.

We made a solid hire, who cares if we paid 1.8mil or 2mil or 2.5mil?
If our defense improves, it’s well worth the extra $500k or so, which is really peanuts in the longrun given an annual $200m+ budget.
This is a good problem to have… there was a time (pre-2000 and Emmert) that LSU had a history of going cheap. I think the new strategy post-Emmert seems to have worked out quite well for us in the last 20+ years.
Mizzou clearly wanted to keep him given the $2m per year extension and the rumored $2.5m match. That’s a good thing, we got someone that Mizzou clearly didn’t want to lose.

Minter for Michigan makes 900k
didn't he give up 50+ to TCU last year? How do BIG offenses compare to SEC offenses? I know the BIG had some of the worst offenses in the country this year...not saying he isn't good but no one really plays the BIG style in the SEC.

Should have pulled Mich or top DC for 3 million .............Woodward overspend other peoples’ money

Baker is good. You guys don't know if Ohio State or Michigan's coordinators are as good as Baker
Remember..
8 of the 10 worst scoring Power 5 offenses in college football resided in the Big 10 this year:
Indiana
Purdue
Northwestern
Iowa
Illinois
Minnesota
Nebraska
Michigan State

Wow we have a bunch of visionaries here. The same ones that I am sure were begging BK to get a new DC are now dissapointed in who we hired. Baker has not coached one down of football at LSU but these visionaries know he will not be as good as the Michigan and Ohio St DC's.
These clowns will never be satisfied

How do you know the Michigan or Ohio DC even had interest? Maybe Kelly felt them out through back channels to determine if they had interest.

You would bitch no matter who we hired

From before we hired Baker...

Baker’s new three-year deal with Mizzou would have paid him a salary of $1.9 million for 2024, with raises to $2 million and $2.1 million in the second and third years of the agreement, per a source familiar with negotiations

Why not? We’re paying $10M for a 3L/Yr coach

I agree. 1.5 for Minter is a far better deal for LSU. I'm rootin for Baker though.
We would not have gotten Minter for 1.5 and we would have had to wait several more days to even start the process with him.
The OP is a fricking idiot. Coming off a title appearance (possibly win), Michigan would bid much higher to keep him if it did come down to just money. The Big 10’s new TV deal is just as good, if not better than the SEC’s.

Anyone could make a living as DC in the Big 10 and their limited offenses. The gigantic advantage of Mich and OHio State over the rest of their competition would make being a DC rather easy.

Minter was elite enough to have his VAnderbilt defense ranked 117 in the USA during his time spent there as DC. His defense gave up 500 yards to TCU last year on the big stage. He has his blemishes as well. He is certainly a good coordinator when he has a great advantage in players.
