Why the hell would we hire a DC that coaches up north and has no ties to LA, is older and probably in line for a head coaching position sooner rather than later.

We need guys that know the southern recruiting landscape and can develop players. Baker has shown he can do both. Whether he's worth what the market dictated to get him here, time will tell, but all indications are that this is a very good hire that could be our DC for several years.

Minter for Michigan makes 900k We could have offered him 1.5 and could have had a much better DC for cheaper

Pretty sure he’s busy at the moment and Michigan could counter and if Harbaugh leaves for the NFL Tuesday he might be the Michigan HC or an NFL DC

How do you know he isn't the best? The guy is a young coordinator. Sometimes what people in certain circles are saying about people is more important than their results so far.

Using your logic, Sean Payton and Pete Carroll are better NFL coaches than Jim Harbaugh and Dan Campbell.

We all know. Overpaying football coaches takes an adult to do that task. Coaching football requires an adult with a MIT degree and a 180 IQ. It’s a lot of X and O stuff and all.

Baker has recruiting connections in Houston Louisiana and florida. That’s huge. On top of being familiar with some of our players and being a good dc. I’m pumped

To elaborate, I seem to remember something about LSU playing Missouri this year. That means Kelly & Co. spent a whole lot of time watching film before the game, and then played against him. Is it just kinda remotely possible that, somewhere along the line, Kelly thought "Hey, this guy is good!?

Baker is good. You guys don't know if Ohio State or Michigan's coordinators are as good as Baker.

He just got a contract for 1.1 from mizzou with a million dollar buy out. We doubled his money. He hasn’t been DC long enough for 2.5 We should pay that kinda money for a proven coordinator on offense or defense

Wrong. His 3 year contract was for an average of 2 million per year. Year 1 - 1.9 mil, year 2 - 2 mil, year 3 - 2.1 mil with a $950,000 buyout. He’s getting 2.2 mil here plus the buyout.

You bitches have nothing left to troll about, so you’re just pulling shite out of your asses now

For any who aren’t aware, the dickhead OP has never been anything but a cheap troll here. Probably a fan of another team.

Based on throttling a bunch of Big10 teams with anemic offenses? Baker’s D totally held OSU in check, with lesser athletes. The only Big10 team to display a good offense was the one Matt House made look good.

Wrong on his pay at Mo. At least get your numbers right. They just bumped him to 2M.
