LSU has been outside the top 10 by most preseason polls.

Certainly, it only matters what you do on the field but it seems LSU football has lost some of it's luster with analyst.

We used to get the benefit of the doubt. "Because it's LSU"

LSU has the most players in the NFL...to me that's impressive how much talent we have year end and year out...

I am tired of attributing our mediocrity to (numerous) early departures to the NFL and lack of QB development.

We got to play ball this year...

It's probably better for a team to start out ranked low or unranked anyway. I hate when they interview players and they go on about how the preseason polls aren't giving them respect.

The analysts seem to have been accurate thus far regarding LSU. I can recall the last great team we had was in 2011, and that team was ranked in the top 3 in most pre-season polls.

We were #1 in the USA today poll in 2012

so 2 years in a row…rankings have not come out for 2015 but it's looking to be around 12-15 like the previous 2 years…with a good QB we would be top 3

Top 5 2011 and 2012 (#1 in one poll)

2013
2014

So two seasons

This isn't a real poll.

They are so wrong most years there is no reason for concern. This year LSU will get back to manhandling teams.

Early defections and lack of good QB play are the reasons.

2012 team could have been great if TM7 had come back.

2013 could have been great if the whole defense hadn't left.

2014 we had no shot because of horrible QB play. Again.

LSU is a top 15-20 program right now. Change has to happen on the field.

That's the key. Experts correctly expect our QB play to be questionable.

I do not think that being in the Top 25 is a sign of Mediocrity!

Yea if we had Dak Prescott we would easily be top 5.. heck there's no telling how good we could have been last year with only someone like Brandon Allen. He could actually complete multiple forward passes in 1 game

It's not for most programs, but LSU should be a 10-12 win program every year.

this has to be at least 3 years in a row we have been ranked out of the top 10 in preseason.. 2 years in a row not counting this year..

The 2011 team was amazing and surprised even LSU fans..

2012, and 2013 we lost I believe 17 jrs to the NFL.

that's way too much talent to leave the program in a span of 15 months

I think Coach O is going to get LSU DL back to dominance..

If Harris can be the QB we've all been waiting on, then I think we can do special things..

Who cares. This team needs to play with a chip on its shoulders. They will be much improved over last year.

Welcome to milesocrity. A condition characterized by annually underachieving against teams with inferior talent and regularly losing to your biggest rival in the last minute of a game. See your physician.

We really don't have more talent than teams we play every season. Just look at the recruiting rankings. Behind bama, on par with UGA, Tenn, UF, Tamu, Aub, and recently ole miss.

Arky gets our number some years, even under saban. State beat us once in 9 tries under miles, big whoop.

2012 we lost some good players to the draft, but by the UF game we were missing 22 scholarship players that were on the team at the beginning of august. 2013 the whole defense left, 2014 we were a very young team. I will worry if we don't see improvement this year.
