Does compute. That's where they rank among teams not yardage against Florida.

IF we take the crowd out of the game early it will make a big difference. If they keep it close through 2 quarters then we will have a fight on our hands.

The numbers are national rankings not yardage totals.

Also, where are all of the mean, irritating people? This is one of the most enjoyable, polite threads I have read here in a long time!

Yea sorry about the confusion, these numbers are Offensive national rank. Total, Pass and Rush. I was basically pointing out that Florida has played No One with much of a pulse

FLA has a pretty good defense. But has injuries. I remember a certain Ole Miss team back in 2013 that had a ton of players out on defense. And look at what happened against one of the best LSU offenses of all time. Just saying.

Yea but you do know Florida could possibly be missing their starting front 4 on DL right(for sure the starting DTs, which the back ups are both 260 pounders)? LSU's new "Spread the field and run" should be able to hit for 8+ yards per play like it did in the last game. In a 4 wide, if the Linemen block their man and have one left to pick up the LB to the run side that only leaves the Safety to come down to stop the play, Easy 8-10 yards per play. Thats just my opinion

BTW: The 2010 North Carolina game comes to mind too...

Nice stat analysis, but you can throw all that out when the game starts, but I agree, we should win decisively.

For sure, This is the SEC where anything can happen at game time. I just dont see Florida's Defense being physically able to keep LSU's offense from doing what they please.

Nice work! Amazing how stats get skewed when the competition is light.

How many of you think LSU would have a better record if they'd faced the UF schedule?

After everything is said and done, the only thing that counts will be the numbers we put up Saturday..35-14 would satisfy me...if we get the 35...lol

You can bet the commentators will mention Florida being the #2 Ranked Defense

While I agree that Saturday was great, there are a number of factors that won't be at play:

Florida >>>> Mizzou
On the road
Emotion of the Miles firing less acute
Film of the "new" offense

And while our offense has been generally pedestrian the last few years, look no further than the bowl game against Texas Tech (where we had more yards and points than Saturday against similar competition defensively).

I need a bigger sample size before I proclaim this team much better.

That is the point. This team has been capable of putting that much offense on the field for a long time, however, they have been held back by vanilla play calling. Now, with Ensminger calling the plays the offense clicks, just like the bowl game with TT. The only difference is O won't bring the team back into its shell when he's coaching for his job like Les did.

I may not know what kind of HC O would be, but I am positive that we will not have to worry about his teams being vanilla in any aspect.

yes, LSU's O-line may be banged up...but did you see any less offensive production when back up linemen came into the game?

I know I didn't....Brumfield looked great and so did D Campbell....
