Is the grove still on a first come basis. I heard that the Ole Mrs Athletic Dept wanted to sell reserved spots for big donors? Any truth to that?

I was under the impression they rented spaces, hire a company to put up tent and cater cold food.

Get there early and park in the area of the Coliseum. It's kinda far to walk to the stadium but it is further west and not as difficult to get out after the game.
Last time I was there I dismantled a huge GO TO HELL LSU banner off of a Frat House.
