Does anybody else think we should be continuing to upgrade the outside look of TS before expanding?
Yes. Along with the concourses and the apartments. I wonder if anyone realizes we will completey lose our "coliseum" effect with wrap around upper decks?

those aren't people without tickets on campus. that would explain why the stadium is 1/3 empty for many games. still not thousands of people on campus anymore without tickets. student areas of tailgating i'll concede, but not the full campus as was the case a couple of years ago. walk around ceba, a couple years ago you had to stake out a tailgating spot even if you have been there for years. Not this past season. you can go there at 3pm for a night game and set up a tailgate if you want. people use to line ceba drive with tailgates. only 2 consistantly there this year. ours was one of them. where i park up on the hill between ceba and highland, 2 years ago full early every game. had to park there before 9am for a night game. when i bring my gear back there before the game usually 5:30 dozens of empty parking places and no tailgating as it was before. anyone who thinks there are thousands of people on campus without tickets anymore is fooling themselves.

Has anybody in the LSUAD ever seen the Coliseum in Rome? Do they know that TS is supposed to look like the Coliseum? Wouldn't know it from the East/West upper deck expansion and these new drawings. Where are the "Arches?" There should be arches at every entrance point. They're no where to be found in the design. None of it matches aesthetically.

Why does everyone get upset about the lose of the arches now. it was the people who designed and built the orignal upper deck on the west side that fricked that up. There is no way put arches up without tearing down the support columns for the uppers.

Not sure if this has already been discussed but Joe Alleva said last week that there have been only 3 actual sellouts the past two or three seasons. He said for this reason, among others, an expansion of the stadium will not in the near future. I am assuming although the tickets are all sold (what they care about) the absence of actual attendance is an indicator that a costly expansion of the stadium would not be offset by the increase in tickets sold.

And sorry no link. It was a speech I attended for a class.

Good to know about seats not being taken away ... section 419 here ... row 35. Only about 6 or 7 from the top. Maybe we'll get an overhang???

I love TS but I think that the price of tickets has priced out the fans that made it special. In the 80's the place was louder with 80,000 fans than it is now. Hopefully if they add 10,000 seats they will be priced so that the common fan can afford them. I just don't see LSU/TAF allowing that though.
I am poor as shite, yet I can manage to afford seats in the NEZ. I pay about $600 a seat per season. Find me another SEC big time school where I cnan get comparable seats for that price.

This past year may have been the least amount of fans over the past decade tailgaiting without going to the game (probably due to all the early/day games), but there are always thousands of fans that don't go to any SEC game. Previous years, there were probably at least 10,000 on average games and close to 30,000 on the games of the year. I remember the UF game a few years back that I couldn't believe how many people were on campus and I've been attending LSU games for 30 years.

As far as it being harder to park, adding a few thousand Club level seats is not goint to make the situation much worse, but the guy who said he waits 10 minutes after the game is over for parking to clear out, has obviously never been to a home game. I usually wait at least an hour and still have to fight traffic to leave campus.

You are probably right. I just remember the atmosphere being much crazier 20 years ago.

Your seats will go up with expansion.

The decrease in atmosphere is directly related to having a better team. Beating any top 25 team used to be a big deal but its just not anymore.

I don't think they plan to ever build a north end zone. It looks like our coliseum look will only be preserved there.

And I seem to remember reading that they were going to make the street in front of the north stadium a brick road. Has anybody heard anything about that lately?

Expanding the North would be too much hassle considering the proximity of the PMAC and Mike's Habitat.
