The back and forth went on for YEARS - and quite vehemently since 1-09-12. So how do you think it shook out ultimately?

IMO, the only thing complicating the Negatigers' argument is the 2011 season. It was a thing of beauty that I'm glad I got to see in my lifetime. And I still argue to this day that Miles actually out-coached Saban in the "Armageddon" game from November, 2011.

However, with benefit of hindsight, I think it's somewhat clear that Les caught some lucky lightning in a bottle that season - a stupidly ridiculous roster of talent which gelled at the right time and which also featured the improbable rise of TM7.

As a Negatiger, I've thought it was obvious since at least 2009 that Miles should be gone (and in all honesty, I never actually got past the 1st Quarter foibles of Tennessee, 2005). The obvious and often gameday gaffes were always inexcusable.

But after 5 seasons of watching the best players in the NFL constituting a virtual roster of LSU Allstars, I don't see how anyone could have remained a Positiger. Any remotely honest breakdown of top line Win/Loss stats in Les' career always told a way more mixed tale than "he's had x number of 10-win seasons".

I don't deny that at times the Negatigers flirted with being spoiled brats who didn't often place things in the context of the Program's darker years. But in the final wash, I blame the Positiger's for constantly keeping the blinders on and refusing to acknowledge the obvious: LSU Football was transformed into an under-performing, unwatchable product on the field and that Leslie himself was ultimately the reason for that.

Without the relentless sunshine pumping, yesterday might have come far sooner...and for the greater benefit of the Program.

This thread is pointless. The pumpers already lost. Leave them alone.

yeah i was banned for a year for speaking the truth. The times have certainly changed. Id never say i was right though . Happy for LSU football again though . It would be funny if one of our Qb's threw for 300 yards right out the gate!

Nothing lasts forever. The negas have been wrong many times. An inevitable coaching change does nothing to vindicate their bitch assness

The NEGATIGERS started seriously calling for the firing of Les Miles after the Tennessee game in 2005. I remember it well. Les went on to win one national title, and many people would say two. The NEGATIGERS were definitely WRONG!!

I allowed for that in my argument. I don't agree that falling backwards into the only 2-loss title run in history constitutes "negatigers were definitely wrong". The argument is not that Les was 100% incompetent and deserves zero credit. To the contrary - he was an amiable ambassador for the Program and the School with a lot of positive accomplishments.

But the same Positigers who were happy to promote the idea that Saban wasn't very good because Miles had early success against him (even as Saban was only rebuilding the program at Bama) are the same Positigers who were unwilling to admit that Saban had effectively exposed all the terminal weaknesses of Miles' approach. Can't have it both ways.

No you're wrong. Triple over time losses to two SEC spares - Arky and KY. Alabama fumbling the ball and LSU running it in for the winning score with only seconds to go in the game... Les got VERY lucky his entire career at LSU and with a Pitt victory over WVA, if it weren't for that LSU would have been in the Capital One bowl again. Les lead LSU football down a slow circling drain.

Who says 2 national titles?

We can't be proven right but only absolute morons would think we got the most out of our talent over last 5 years

And yet a 3 loss sec title is touted.
Do you know how many national titles saban wouldve won at lsu if you gave him a national title for every 2 loss or less season at lsu? Still just one.

You just had to go and frick up the post with this. No one counts 2011 as "ANOTHER NC FOR MILES". Not even me and i sleep with a lock of miles' hair.

It worked out the way it was supposed to:

Both factions have different views, but their love for LSU is all the same.

Like coach O said in his presser: LSU is bigger than any player or coach. The culture of being home to the feared, fighting tigers is greater than any one person.

He was absolutely correct. I'm excited for the future.

As with every other mundane division on this board, reality lies somewhere in the middle.

I think we fired him 4 games too late. Too many people say 4 years. Probably some say 8 games too soon.

Also, a final analysis of pumpers and negatigers by an admitted member of one or the other is about as worthless as a velvet painting of a whale and dolphin getting it on.

With all due respect.

Yes - in the still early days of him installing his recruits and his system AND without his starting QB AND one season removed from turning 3-8 into 8-4.
