I always joked that Jimbo should have just alternated Carter and Brazell and let them run a fly route EVERY down. By halftime you would have just flat wore out the other teams DB's. I'm sure the track coach probably wouldn't have objected to the extra reps. Could have thrown in Amp Hill to alternate the fly pattern at time too.

In 2004, in addition to Carter and Brazell (and Amp Hill) we really had Bowe, Buster, Syler, and Early to do the actual receiving and Jamarcus Russell throwing.

SICK talent!

In terms of football speed, I haven't seen anyone mention Corey Webster. I remember against La Tech, he caught a guy from behind running from close to a pylon at one end of the field toward the opposite pylon at the other endzone and stopped him around the 5. LSU then got got a turnover and prevented them from scoring that drive. He was very fast.

And of course Devery

I know this is old school, but Billy Cannon was pretty fast in his day and excelled in track and field as well as football.

Devery Henderson could fly as well

Track and field[edit]

Henderson was also a track star at the Louisiana State University, where he was member of LSU's national champion track, member of LSU's NCAA-qualifying 4 × 100 metres relay team and also a member of LSU's 2001 National Champion Indoor Track and Field team. In his sophomore season, he ran the second-fastest 60-meter time in school history, with a time of 6.72 seconds.

Kennison was very fast. Crazy thing, and chalk it up to the "what would have been" file, but I watched jermaine sharp beat the pants off him in the parking lot of Broussard hall in the summer of '93. Boo was talking a bunch of trash and they lined it up. Lol. What a waste of great talent (sharp).

Derrick Thymes. Ran more track than football but did have a handful of returns in his time at LSU. 4.19 40 is what he told me he ran while at LSU.

Skyler Green ran a low 4.5 at the combine. I loved him as a player but, not in this discussion I don't think
