All i'm saying is STAND UP AT THE DAMN GAME. If you want to sit down I'm sure your couch is perfectly capable of taking care of you.

If all the fans who sit down never showed up, LSU would not have an athletics program. Why can't you kids do your own thing and leave the others be?

why do some LSU fans look down on other fans that support their team and are passionate? what a crazy fan base.

+1, how about we stop getting on each other about not standing up at games. Its a waste of time.

the problem with that logic is the fans telling others to sit down. Money=/=support, and you can be "experienced" to yell at a game. My dad yells at games and he went to LSU in the early 80s.
Sometimes I think the older people don't want to stand up and yell at games just so they can say "how much better it used to be", just to hang something over our heads.

Baseball games are rarely on the tube, and even if they are, people like to take their kids and enjoy the game. Great atmoshpehere you will never forget. If someone has a kid or is older, they aren't going to stand the entire game. And BTW futuretiger, I agree 100% with what just smokin is saying.

I'm not talking about baseball games. Mainly football with a little bit of basketball. The logic is twisted. If someone tells me to sit down at a game, it is "their right" to see the game, but if I tell someone to stand up it is going too far.

So do you mean that if I stand up in front of your old fart, fat-wallet parents (who are paying your bills) and they tell me to sit down, I can tell them to f*ck off and go sit their fat asses on the couch?

Show me where someone started thread with the sole intent to bash students for standing.

Money=/=support,

You will grow up one day and realize how untrue this is. How do you think LSU pays for everything without tax dollars?

How the hell do you know they are thinking?

My mom doesn't go to the games. (She also went to LSU in the early 80s) and my dad is not the type of person to sit down. Call us crazy.

I think if someone wants to sit, they can sit.

I was at the Auburn game, and when the students said "stand up", I did stand up. But the people behind me didn't stand and I knew they didn't want to stand and that they couldn't see, so I sat down.

Screw this whole, "I bought the ticket and I'm entitled to leave" bullshite. When you walk out of a 2 point game with 3 minutes to go, that shows character right there, or lack thereof

It is a hypocritical argument. Yeah they can sit, but don't tell me to sit down with them.

it's cool. I really want to steer this away from a generational argumenent though. Age doesn't affect your behavior in a game IMO

I'd take the poor college kid in right field getting rowdy on a two strike count, and the grad. sitting upper level baseline over some quiet arse wallet stuffed VIP sitting behind the plate...err...in the suite anyday. And the same goes to the people 5 rows up at midcourt.

I think most people at sporting events enjoy "the poor college kid in right field getting rowdy on a two strike count, and the grad sitting upper level baseline" . The team enjoys them being there and in most cases respond to them. That is very important.

However the "quite arse wallet stuffed VIP sitting behind the plate …err…in the suite anyday" also has an important place. Without him there would not be the new Alex Box, the enlarged and beloved Tiger Stadium or any other fine arena for the poor college kid to stand in.

From my point of view this is kind of like a marriage. It takes two entities, both very different, with different ideas, both very important but working together makeing a beautiful thing.

Fifty years from now I hope you are the VIP with the fat wallet and you still have the energy to act like the poor college kid. I am not that fortunate.

Cool. I fall into the old-fart-who-likes-to-stand-and-yell-category. I just wish that doing it would actually win games.

By all means...but the funny thing is, my old fart parents once asked me why the students are the only ones who seem "into" the game...hmm...

I agree with you. I know not every person has that energy. But as stated earlier, it's the people who want me to sit down that really get to me. I know money is necessary and has a place. Hell, the 'old people' at football games still get the place amped. That is a place where I get pissed at the students who don't show up, leave early, or simply text all day long. Our students at the fb games really look lame near the top sections.

C'mon...let's bring Death Valley back...bring the Deaf Dome back.

Chris is a all around nice guy, the K-Lady however, is a B*tch.

I got tickets next to her a few years back with my Dad when I was in town visiting, (my Dad is a Football seaosn ticket holder for years and goes to as many Baseball and Basketball games is possible) and she clocked us twice with her K signs and stomped our feet as she ran by without saying excuse me everytime she ran down, she acts like she owns the place. When my Dad finally asked her nicely to watch knocking into us she just looked as us and said ya'll must be from New Orleans, and if you don't like it leave. Now my Dad and I are perfect gentleman, but we wanted to clock her old a$$.

I think this is exagerrated.
