Fan Day Question - Autographs

How difficult is it to get autographs from the football team on fan day? My son is 6 and would like to go meet some of the players and get autographs. We live in Houston so not sure it is worth the drive.

If not for the douche bags like you (who don't have a 6 year old son) it wouldn't be that hard.
Grown men salvatating over college kids creep me out.
They prob wearing a toonces jersey too.
I'd come over, your boy will enjoy it.
Good father son spent day.

You'll have to fight all the grown men trying to get mini helmets and footballs signed.

It all depends which autographs you want. Lines are long for the named players. Bring a sleeping bag if you want Fournette's or Miles' autograph.

Appreciate it. Kind of what I figured.

They'll (MBB) have their own fan day closer to the start of their season. At least that's how it has been in the past.
This fan day is really just for the football team.

They include the soccer and volleyball teams as well.

If you're just looking for autographs, it's worth the drive if you follow a plan and don't mind waiting in lines.
If you're looking for your son to "meet" the players too, then the best way to do that is wait by the locker room after a home game. There are thousands of fans there and the players only sign for 90 minutes, so they don't have time to meet and sign too.
Some mentioned that it's the grown men who are the biggest problem, but it really isn't. It's the people who get in line and feel they have to take a picture of each player with their kid that slows down the lines. Sometimes the grown men are an issue when they keep trying to switch items instead of letting the players just pass the item down the table, but the picture takers are much worse. This is the reason I don't bring my kid anymore. A few years ago we got a ball signed at the spring game by a bunch of All Americans, and now we just add to that ball when LSU has an All American.
Also if the doors open at 3:00, don't expect to get there at 2:30pm or even 2:00pm and expect to be in the top 500 in line. I would suggest bringing chairs and snacks and getting there about 10am-11am and sit there. Strike a conversation with the family next to you. Talk about the upcoming season, etc. Oh, and after the doors open, it's another hour or so wait inside.

Last year the offense was in one building, the defense was in another. Inside of each building is a separate table for each position group. Because of the Heisman push and popularity of LF, expect the RB line to be VERY long. Coach Miles line will be very long too.
It is worth the drive and wait. I DO agree with one poster's reply in that your best bet for autographs is to wait outside the player locker room after home games. Some players are in a hurry to get out of there, others stay and sign everything, take pictures, etc.

I find it humorous that as a whole, the Rant feels this way. Yet many have signed memorabilia in their homes. I have no problem with adults standing in line for this. I will not have too, as my son starts college there next week. I pay the fee bill.....he stands in line. ??
