NBA playoffs and Daytona wouldn't matter to me, but the others I agree. Not married, but I would prolly try and push for April, May, July, and March during early Carnival years. And in New Orleans. I don't think you could get away with a January wedding. Unless you do it on a Friday night. That may be the key anyways like that one couple mentioned in the article.

Actually it appears you don't. It's OK though.

Repeating yourself doesn't make you right.

I'm quite capable of understanding your point. That doesn't make it a good one.

Bigger inconvenience than any sporting event IMO. Nothing like making people take off work to make sure they are at the wedding in time.

What are you trying to accomplish here?

I could ask the same of you. How about you stop telling me I don't get simple things and we'll just agree to disagree here?

Also, is there any thing more inconvenient than a Thursday rehearsal?

But try to avoid NBA playoffs, March Madness, NFL, College Football, CWS, MLB Playoffs, Daytona 500, hurricane season, holidays and festivals.

So do you have time for anything outside of the month of July?

Didn't think in those terms. A small local wedding, and it could maybe be done.

Just the joke of this thread. You can't avoid everything. You just go with it and make sure you don't schedule any big games. It's not about me, it's what my fiancé wants. I helped set the date and did as much damage control as I could.

Again, you CANNOT do that in a city like New Orleans. You have to book things over a year in advance. Football schedules aren't made that early.

Sounds good. I'd never skip a wedding for a game, but I'd definitely have to think about it each time

I agree. But you can look in the past. Alabama is the first weekend of November. A&M is now the thanksgiving weekend. Florida is usually second weekend of October. Auburn is the only one that jumps around a lot. You can try, doesn't mean you'll succeed.

Or I could schedule it around what is actually important, like venue and vendor availability.

I am good friends with 2 of the guys that I skipped on their weddings. I skipped one for a chick I was friends with, but my wife is really close to and it never came up. As I said earlier, when there are 300 + people at a reception its hard to tell who is/isnt there.
