Is it just me or do the posted averages not correlate to the stats themselves?

Thanks for the info Scuba. Any overall comments on what you've seen?

I corrected Breaux's BA, the others are fairly accurate These numbers on based on my personal scoring of the scrimmages and don't always agree with LSU's scorer, errors vs. hits. I am less lenient toward the fielders than the official scorer.

I think this year's team will be better than last year's. They have better overall speed and more pitching depth. I hope the loss of Andy Cannizaro does not hurt as much as I think it will. I think he did a good job of coaching hitting and base running.
There are two positions that I think are in contention, first and third base. The other changes will be in the outfield as Duplantis moves to center field and is replaced in right field by Deichmann. I think Breaux has earned the start in left field ahead of Jordan and the freshmen. As for the third starter, I think Norman has the inside track. I was impressed with Peterson and Walker but I think the coaches would be reluctant to give the job to a true freshman. Perhaps one of them can show enough maturity to secure the Sunday slot during spring ball and the nonconference schedule. Stay tuned for updates during spring practices.

If the season started Friday, I'd line them up thusly:
2nd Freeman R
3rd Smith L
LF Breaux L
RF Deichmann L
DH Jordan, Br. R
CF Duplantis L
SS Robertson R
C Papierski S
1st Slaughter R

Pitchers:
Fri. Lange R
Sat. Poche L
Sun. Norman R
Tue. Peterson R
Wed. Walker R
Closer Newman R
First relief Strall or Kiel depending on situation.

Just curious are you including walks, HBP or sacs in the AB stat? Because 15/43 is not .442... If you are it should be PA (plate appearances), because AB is PA minus walks, HBP, or sac/SF. To find a players average you divide their hits by their number of at bats which would not include those other ways of getting on base... those are accounted for in their on base percentage.

NVM I see you were intending H to mean singles and then adding in the doubles, triples and home runs. Sorry. Very unorthodox for baseball stat display, but appreciated none the less!
