Realistically,

How long do y'all think it will be before we win a title with JJ?

All indications so far point towards this team potentially making the run to Omaha. That alone in a coach's first year would be nuts.

I think it is almost inevitable that we get at least one under him if not more, just a matter of when.

I'll keep my opinions on Paul only winning one to myself.

If some pitchers step up, as early as this year.

I wouldn't set that bar at NC or bust ever. I think your goal at LSU would be making it to a Super 7 out10 years and hosting at least 4 of them. From that point, anything can happen. Those expectations aren't changing for any coach. That's my expectations of the program.

Really hard to win a title in baseball. A lot of good fortune has to happen. Asking this question on the rant, there will be many that say omaha this year.

I just say buckle up, cause we ridin.

From what I've heard him say in interviews, this team will be well prepared for what it's gonna face.
There will be a plan on offense which has lacked in the past despite the talent.

3-5 years if I had to guess.

Only two teams won multiple titles while PM was at LSU. That is extremely hard to do in college baseball, but that's for another conversation.

I think expectations for this team needs to be super regional host. This offense should produce like nothing we've seen since '09. If we have pitchers start producing, I think a nice run in the CWS.

Like they said above, if we can get “good” pitching from the staff, I wouldn’t be shocked if we’re playing in Omaha.
I expect to be in Omaha within 3 years, championship within 5. Maybe I’m setting the bar too high, but oh well.

It’s all about pitching since the change in bats.

Only 8 teams host a super. That's a tall task. LSU fans are spoiled, and act like this is some easy accomplishment. It's not. Hosting supers should be a semi regular thing at LSU, because that's where the baseball program is supposed to be. But just saying, it's super host or bust is foolish if you ask me.

Try watching college baseball some, and you would know this is false. Mainieri had loaded staffs, but couldn't hit. Those teams usually didn't fair very well. Teams in Omaha can usually rake. You need either pitching or hitting to be at an elite level, and the other one to be above average. We should have elite level offense.

Is there any reason NOT to say that?

1- It should be our general expectation
2- We're friggin loaded.

.
note: we have plenty of P to get to Omaha

You are 1000% correct. I’m not a fan of setting certain bars ( host Super make Omaha win title etc) by X time frame. It’s amazing to me how many people still apply the football mentality (same applies to basketball) that you can’t lose a game or your season is lost. You can make it to Omaha without hosting a regional. We’ve seen teams that didn’t host a regional wind up hosting a Super. You can’t judge baseball season until it’s over.

That said we were in a Super last year. Not every coaching change is a rebuild. Despite All the whining about PM the program is not in shambles. So it wouldn’t be surprising if we were a regional host at least

Looking at top programs since 2011 (10 seasons since 2020 was canceled)

Arizona 3 CWS appearances and 1 championship
Arkansas - 4 and 0
Florida - 6 and 1
Florida St. 3 and 0
Louisville 4 and 0
LSU 3 and 0
Miss. St. 4 and 1
N. Carolina 3 and 0
Oregon St. 3 and 1
TCU 4 and 0
Texas 4 and 0
Texas Tech 4 and 0
Vanderbilt 5 and 2
Virginia 4 and 1

The average top baseball program gets to Omaha 4 out of 10 years and wins 1 championship.

That should be the minimum expectation in the next 10 years.

6 times to Omaha and 2 championships is reasonably expected for LSU.

There are some big time arms in the next class and we'll still have Crews and Morgan. I think we have a good chance in 2023.

LSU is picked 4 in the SECW

And all 4 are in the top 10 nationally.

Won’t get them all but it should be in position to make a run in the postseason

I think we could win a regional this year and get to a super. Everyone thinks we are stacked but overlook everyone else, especially in the SEC, having the same covid returning players as well. This year we will see the most talented college baseball teams ever.

WE made it to a Super last season. I think we'll make it to a Super this season although I gotta see how we pitch and how we play defense/field.

I think we can win a NC in JJ's first 5 seasons.
