Truth.
I remember way back when, he hit one of the longest home runs I've ever seen.
At the old Alex Box there was a building way beyond the left field wall. It might have bee grad student dorm or something I don't really remember. But it was a long way from the field. He hit it.

I was at the game in Omaha when he hit what was described as the longest home run in 25 years at old Rosenblatt stadium off John burk of Florida in 91. I was in left field bleachers and could see the ball.still ascending as it went over the 20 foot high CF fence and eventually smacked a TV tower 25 yards behind cf. It was a mammoth bomb.

Great to hear. I graduated from Saint Thomas More High School in Lafayette with Lyle.

That was married student housing and the furtherest ball I ever seen hit was over Nicholson into Berie Moore. Joey hit a ball not he bottom of the married student housing.

Then we graduated together. Lyle would have been the starting QB at STM, as well as star baseball and basketball player, if not for small town politics. Truth.
...and football may have been his best sport; We'll never know.

Went to high school with his sister Leah...she was hot.

That's the furtherest I've ever seen a ball hit by an LSU player including one from a big first baseman that escapes me in the early 80's. It went onto Nicholsom drive in right center. Ended up at Bernie Moore.

Lyle sat next to me for a senior level Econ final. Dr. Flammang's class. I hooked him up.
